Woh Rehnewali... completes 600 episodes

n October 25, SaharaOne's top-rated show Woh Rehnewali Mehlon Ki completed 600 episodes on air. Producer Kavita Barjatya gives the credit for the success to her entire team, specially writer Shashi Sumant and director Ravi Raj. "The unit is completely dedicated and working very hard," she says appreciatively. Her aim is to take the serial atleast to a 1000 episodes. One of the first serials to garner a 2 + rating for Sahara One, Woh Rehne.. has had its share of ups and downs. When the serial had its generation leap, lead actor Arjun Punj walked out saying he couldn't play a older character at his age. Even Reena Kapoor refused to grey her hair but the producer worked around the problem by killing her first avatar as Rani and bringing her back as Rani's daughter Pari, a splitting image of her mother. The serial was in news recently for killing off its second lead Soumya played by Aamir Bhasin. "People wrote letters to us demanding why we had killed off his character. A morcha of 200 women came to the office and said it wasn't fair to finish off somebody so good as Soumya. We had to convince them that his death was a sacrifice for bringing the family together. All the negative characters Sameer, Vijay and Shelly have turned into a new leaf and Sameer has taken over the family's responsibility, explains Kavita. Soon the serial will see a lavish wedding between Sameer and his beau Alisha. Hope Sameer does not walk out or get killed!
