My mother recently started watching this show on recommendation from a family friend (recently being since last Monday as in 22nd). Now she doesn't want to go back and watch the show from the beginning, so she asked me to find out what the story is up to now if I can.
- Aditya and Nisha have been married for a number of years
- Nisha is obsessive compulsive and a (as they say in Indian TV) villain
- There are 5 other characters in Aditya's house (apart from the kids): Raj, Neha, Kaka, Kaki, and Baba
- She's understood that Baba is Aditya's father and Raj is probably Aditya's younger brother and Neha is Raj's wife
- Neha was probably a strong supporter of Aditya
- Jhanvi is a colleague/employee of Aditya's, who become his friend and fell in love with him (she's not sure if she fell in love knowing he's married or not)
- Jhanvi's mother didn't want her to ever go farther than friendship or let Aditya take things farther than friendship
The first four points she's picked up correctly. Regarding the last three. Neha was the most inclined towards Nisha after Kakasa. In fact last week when Neha ignored Nisha's call, Nisha couldn't believe that Neha too had 'turned' on her. Nisha always put up a sweet face in front of the family other than Babasa and Adi, but once Adi started speaking out against Nisha, Raj gave him benefit of doubt and Kaki was conflicted but started having doubts and suspicions which eventually were proven. Then it was Kakasa supporting Nisha with Neha still somewhat understanding and sympathetic, till it was fully proven about Nisha.
Second. Jhanvi is an employee, interior designer, but we don't see her in office anymore. It's not completely clear what her status is now at the office. She fell in love with him during their time at office, not knowing he was married (which I always found lame, especially since she was just planning on confessing him the next day--Holi-- after realizing it. Who does that without 1) wondering about marital status of rich man of that age from such a prominent family, and 2) even if not married, wouldn't you wonder about possible love life and 3) it's so lame to do such a thing to your boss just like that). But anyway, she finds out during Holi that he's married, thankfully before confessing to him. Then goes to office with resignation letter, but overhears family argument between Aditya and Kaka over his decision for divorce. Jhanvi decides to try to help Aditya fix his marriage and family life.
Aditya tells her it's not so easy, Nisha wants everything, etc etc. Jhanvi advises him to give her whatever she is asking for. Division within the house, take over as CEO, etc--because he will save his marriage this way and still have his family with him. So Aditya does this, becomes the bad guy for his family though he says he's doing it to save his marriage. Nisha however is curious as to what made Aditya finally agree to this, and finds out it is Jhanvi's advice. Instead of being happy, she is jealous and plots to get back at Jhanvi and throw her out.
Jhanvi, after Aditya gave Nisha what she wanted and took back the divorce, was leaving for good and they still hadn't become as close as they are now. It was more like, getting advice from a good colleague for Aditya. But Nisha decides to ask Jhanvi for help as well, saying Aditya is not forgiving her, listening to her, etc. Nisha has Jhanvi come to the house under pretext of redoing some parts of the house. Aditya however knows Nisha is up to no good, and tells and pleads with Jhanvi not to fall for Nisha's words and that she definitely is doing this for some reason. Jhanvi doesn't listen.
Nisha does a few things to make Jhanvi and Aditya look bad. But the biggest thing she does is to plot it out to make it look like Aditya and Jhanvi are having an affair. Family walks in on them and are disappointed, Nisha does poor wife act, asking if this was the reason for divorce. Jhanvi and Aditya prove to the family that it was Nisha who set them up, and Nisha twists it around that she was really insecure and thought she should remove Jhanvi before anything happens. Kakasa is sympathetic, so is Neha--as they believe Aditya led her to this due to his demand for divorce.
Jhanvi once again leaves for good, but Babasa is upset without her so Kakasa asks her to come back and though her mother is angry says they shouldn't turn their back on Babasa... Anyway more shenanigans happen wherein which Nisha tries various things, Aditya and Jhanvi block it. And they become closer as friends.
Finally, Nisha's face is revealed for good after Jhanvi's kidnapping and Kakasa threw her out.
Third Jhanvi's mother, after Jhanvi finds out Aditya is married, is adamant that Jhanvi quit and when divorce news becomes public and Jhanvi decides to help Aditya, her mother is against it. Jhanvi assures her mother she won't do anything and knows her limits. Her mother is wary and has bad impression since Aditya is wanting to divorce Nisha, and says not to easily believe his lies, etc. But as time goes on, Nisha's actions are clear to Jhanvi and hence her mother whom she keeps up to date. Her mother often encourages her how to fight Nisha, etc etc. And finally Nisha herself has come to the house to threaten etc. Jhanvi's mother started seeing the truth about Nisha and became less hostile and last week agrees with Babasa's suggestion that Jhanvi get married to Aditya. Also, Jhanvi's father left her mother for another woman and has another family. So this played a lot in her mother and Jhanvi's actions.
She's already got questions on the relationships though because she's not sure why Baba is scared of Nisha and who this Kaka and Kaki are. And why would Aditya have kids with Nisha if he knew how "evil" Nisha was?
I started watching around the time Jhanvi realizes she has fallen in love with Aditya, so from what I've seen... Babasa has Alzheimer's and is afraid of Nisha because she would often torture him in various ways and keep him terrified of her by threatening to kill Aditya, etc etc. I don't know why she did this. Though one reason she did it was to blackmail Aditya into getting what she wanted--become CEO, family out of the house etc etc.
Also, Adi and Nisha have been married for eight years. I think it's assumed that she didn't get as worse as she has in the past year or so. First it was just suggestions, etc etc. But once kids, she became more and more adamant about Aditya taking control, and then resorted to blackmail, torture of Babasa etc etc.
She wanted some help understanding the basic story. Also she wanted to know if this is a finite series or not.
Please help if you can.
