||Part 3:||

Scene 1: Classroom

Everyone walks into the classroom, talking about how their next half an hour is going to be a complete waste of time. Utkarsh was literally dragging himself to his seat with Parth following him on close heels.

'Yaar ! Ye hindi compulsory subject kyun hai? Maths aur biology ki tarah isse bhi peecha chhut jata tau kitna accha hota! ' Utkarsh grumbles

'Hmmm, tera bas chale, tau tu sirf ek hi subject choose kare, wo...' Parth teases Utkarsh

'Arey shhh!!! Kya kar raha hai bhai? Siyali ne sun liya tau, fir se lamba lecture suna degi'' Utkarsh says in a hush tone looking behind to check if Siyali was behind them.

Siyali , Niti and Simi walk in together and take the front seats.

' Kamini maam ne tau mere favorite subject ko bhi boring bana diya yaar!'', Niti says opening her text books with extreme disinterest. Simi starts laughing and Siyali shoots her a disapproving look.

Just then Krisanne walks in with her friends Ruhi and Sana . She looks at Utkarsh who had now rested his head on the table and was pretending to sleep. Parth was smiling at him , 'Nautanki! '

' Suprabhat bacho! ' Kamini maam announces her presence in the class. Parth nudges Utkarsh hard with his elbow.

' Suprabhaat maam ' students say in chorus in a dragged monotone.

'Aaj hum Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan ji ki kavita madhushala padhenge. Apni pustake khol lijiye. Niti aap padhna shuru kijiye'' Kamini maan says turning her back on the students to write on the blackboard.

Niti starts reading the poetry. While everyone had their eyes on the poem, Charlie was watching her with admiration and smiling like always.

Niti throws him a side glance and tries to concentrate on reading the poem.

'Kya hai?'' She suddenly shouts at him, frustrated at not being able to concentrate anymore.

Everyone starts laughing except Siyali. Charlie's immediate wish was to somehow vanish from the classroom magically. But he only manages to hide his face behind his text book.

' Niti ! Aap ka dhyan kahan hai? ' Kamini maam asks angrily. Niti is embarrassed and angry at Charlie at the same time. Not knowing what to say she only manages to mumble , ' Maam...wo..'' , looking at Charlie for a fleeting second.

' Aap ko is anushasanhinta ke liye dand milega. Aur apki saza ye hai, ki aap is kavita ko swayam padhke, iska saransh aur bhav mujhe kal subah tak likhe dengi... ' she says brandishing an angry finger at Niti.

The class gets over with not much happening after the whole fiasco. Siyali and Simi try talking to Niti. But she walks out of the classroom straight to the library.

Scene 2 : Staffroom

Kamini maam was clicking her selfies when suddenly Rishabh sir enters from behind. He smiles at her as she keeps posing and clicking pictures from all possible angles completely unaware of his presence.

'Ahem! ' Rishabh fakes a cough to alert her, just in case anyone else enters the staffroom

'Oh! Aaap?!'' Kamini looks behind embarrassed.

'Jee! Sorry mene apko dara tau nahi diya?, Rishabh says smiling at her. Kamini was a deep shade of crimson red by then. She adjusts her saree pallu and starts playing with her hair flirtatiously looking at Rishabh.

'Kamini jee, aapko pata hai aap ...'', Rishabh looks around to check if anyone's approaching.

Kamini leaves playing with her hair and pallu and looks at him in anticipation. 'Aap kuch keh rahe the?'' she says no longer able to wait for him to finish. Just then Karthik sir enters the staffroom and looks at the two of them. Rishabh looked like he had swallowed something rotten and extremely unpleasant! Kamini's eyes, however were moving as if she was watching a tennis rally, from Rishabh to Karthik and back. Karthik feels the awkwardness of the entire situation and decides to leave. Once he leaves, Kamini looks back at Rishabh and smiles.

'Aap kucch keh rahe the?! ' she starts from where Rishabh had left.

'Jee?? Jee... aap bohot sundar hai Kamini jee! ' Rishabh blurts out unable to remember what he was saying earlier.

She giggles and then eyes him as if critiquing him closely. He gets conscious and confused, all of a sudden feeling like a mannequin in a showroom.

'Aap vyayamshala jaate hain? Mera matlab...varjish , kasrat karte hai? She asks looking at him closely.

Rishabh is completely thrown off guard!! 'Jee?'' he looks at her startled..

'Wo darasal humein balwaan purush pasand hain! Kamini confesses unabashedly and walks away with a bunch of books in her hand leaving Rishabh with his mouth hung half open in shock!!!!!

Scene 3 : Library (Night time)

Niti was in the library doing her assignment for Kamini maam.

'Ye kavita samajhna itna mushkil kyu ho raha hai?'' she says frustrated with herself. Niti , dhyan kahan hai tera?! she asks herself trying hard to focus on the poem but she keeps getting distracted for some reason.

'Pshhttt!!! ' It was Charlie on the window. Niti looks up and starts gritting her teeth in anger. He walks up to her seat and smiles.

'Tu firse aa gaya? Kya problem hain tera , huh?'' she stands up to a towering Charlie with her hands on her hips looking positively furious.

'Niti, I am sorry..meri wajah se tujhe ye punishment mili hai ' Charlie says going on his knees. 'Mein teri help karna chahta hun..please! ' he says looking at Niti who was still mad at him.

'Tu karega meri help?! Tu? Tera tau wese hi dabba gol hai hindi mein. Rehne de! ' she says and walks back to her seat.

' Mein nahi...ye! ' he says excitedly pulling out a scroll from under his shirt

'Ye kya hai?'' Niti says examining the scroll suspiciously from a distance.

'Khud hi dekh le'' he gives her the scroll and smiles. Niti opens the scroll and starts reading. It was the entire summary of the poem Madhushala !! Her eyes light up as she just couldn't hide her relief and excitement.

'Ye kahan se mili tujhe?'' she asks Charlie pretending not to be much impressed.

'Senior se li hai...tere liye,'' he tells her

'Ahem... Ok, alright..Par iski koi zarurat nahi thi. Mein kar leti khud hi, 'she says reading the scroll and trying her best not to show how happy she was from within. Aaahhh! Thankkk god! Ab mujhe raat ko jagna nahi padega iske liye, she thinks. And then she realizes that Charlie was looking at her.

'Achha ab tu ja. Mujhe ye finish karna hai'' she tells Charlie to stop him from distracting her any further. Jab dekho smile karta rehta hai, she thinks as she gets up from her seat to keep the book back in the shelf.

Niti was standing on tip toes, stretching her hands up trying to reach the second shelf. Exhausted, she gives up and looks down only to find a small wooden stool by her side. She looks towards the door and finds Charlie stepping out of the library quietly. Niti couldn't help but smile to herself!

Scene 4 : Girls dormitory

Siyali and Simi were talking about Niti and what happened in the class earlier in the day.

'I keep telling them, Utkarsh and Niti, to pay attention in class '' Siyali says folding her clothes and Niti's too. 'Lekin meri sunta kon hai? I don't know how she's going to summarize such a huge poem by tomorrow morning. I could have helped her but it's against the rules...'' She said biting her lip and looking worried.

'Don't worry. She is smart and her hindi is pretty good so I am sure she'l manage, ' Simi assured helping Siyali fold her clothes.

Just then Niti enters the dorm and sits beside them on the bed. 'What's up?''

'Niti? You finished your task? So soon? Last I checked you were still on first paragraph and that was only an hour back, before dinner! ' Siyali says looking skeptical.

'Haan tau?! Nothing's tough for Niti! It was just a matter of time you know. Once I got the hang of it, it was a piece of cake, really ' Niti says avoiding to look into Siyali eyes as she starts sorting her clothes out from the pile. Siyali was now looking at her frowning and confused. Niti, I really hope you finished your work sincerely, she thinks to herself.

To avoid Siyali's scrutinizing gaze, Niti jumps the topic, ' Hey Simi! Dishank wants to talk to you. I think he wants help with some notes. He's waiting outside for you''

'Dishank? Oh yeah! My eco lecture notes! He was asking for them in the morning. I'l be back girls,'' she takes her notes and goes out looking for Dishank.

'Don't be too late Simi. It's close to bedtime. Kamini maam will be coming for rounds soon'', Siyali warns Simi.

Outside the dorm, Simi looks around for Dishank but he was nowhere in vicinity. So she decides to go back assuming that he might have left. Just when she was about to go inside the girls dorm, Rohit grabs her arm and pulls her back.

' What the...?!!! Are you crazy! Jeez!! , ' Simi gasps rubbing her arm..

'I am sorry!!! I am so sorry, Simi. I didn't mean to scare you, ' Rohit apologizes leaving her somewhat bemused.

'Why are you here? Where is Dishank?'' Simi asks angrily.

'Dishank?! Ermm... actually I asked Dishank to help me get you outside. I wanted to talk to you,'' Rohit says nervously.

'So talk! I have to go back to dorm. I don't have time for this non-sense'' Simi was mad at him but curious to know what he had to say.

' Simi, I want to apologize for that day. I was a chicken. I ... I was scared of punishment''

'So you put the blame on me instead...? You ARE a chicken, you are right about that Rohit,'' Simi says, clearly still very angry.

'You have every right to be mad at me Simi, 'he starts again. 'I did a mistake and I am genuinely sorry for that. How can I make up for it, you tell me. ' he pleads

Simi was now looking at him, considering his apology , not completely sure if she was being tricked. But somewhere in her heart she did feel that he was regretting his actions but she did not want to relent just as yet. After a minute or so, Rohit no longer able to stand the suspense, grabs her hand and starts pleading again' Simi please tell me that you have forgiven me! I have fancied you since our first day in school and I wanted to tell you that. But I am such a fool. I messed it up so bad. Please give me a chance Simi...please! '

'Stop it Rohit! 'Simi freaks out and drops her notes!

Sid who was standing at a distance in the same corridor talking to Charlie hears her shriek and runs to the spot. He pulls Rohit away from Simi, holds him by his collar and punches him on his face.

' Oyee! Bola tha na muh tod dunga tera agli baar koi aisi wesi harkat ki tau'' he yells at Rohit who was bleeding from the corner of his mouth. Simi was now feeling sorry for him ' Sid wo.., ' she tries to explain.

'Sid meri baat tau sun, ' Rohit gets up brushing his clothes and wiping the blood of his mouth. 'mein sirf Simi ko sorry bol raha tha''

Sid looks at Simi. She was nervous and shaken. Just then Siyali comes there hearing the whole commotion outside the girl's dorm.

'Kya ho raha hai yahan'' she demands, glancing at the two boys.

' Siyali, ..., ' Simi says nervously looking at Rohit.

' Tumhari himmat kese hui Rohit? How dare you trouble her?! ' she shouts at him angrily. Sid was struggling to avoid looking at her.

' Are you not done already? You falsely accused her, almost got her expelled from school and now this?'' she was firing all guns at Rohit.' All you Warrior High boys are cowards and hypocrites'' she fires again, now aiming her arsenals subconsciously at someone, she didn't intend to address.

' First you stalk the girls, try to impress her with your pathetic tricks, make false promises and then when the girl falls for you, you hurt her feelings and look away as if nothing happened .'

Siyali was shaking with anger. Sid looked up at her for the first time since she arrived at the scene, realizing that the conversation was now going on a different tangent! Did she say 'girls fall for you?''

He wasn't sure what she said or what he heard!

'You think you have money, so you can play with anyone's emotions?'' she went on demolishing the two guys standing in front of her with their mouth hung open. Even Simi was unsure what she was talking about so she decided to control Siyali ' Siyali , meri baat sun,'' Simi keeps her hand on her shoulder , trying to calm her down but Siyali shrugs her hand off her shoulders and continues her verbal assault on the boys.

'Let me settle this once and for all. I am not going to let this happen again! ' she says pulling Simi behind and stepping ahead to wage a war !

'Oh! And may I know what are you going to do? How and why is any of this your business?'' Sid pulls Rohit back and steps ahead to confront Siyali, taking the challenge head on. Simi and Rohit were now standing behind Siyali and Sid who had locked horns ready to rip each other's head off. Both had a quizzical expression on their face, not able to figure out who was fighting with whom and for what?!!

'It IS my business Siddharth Rajput. I will not allow this dick head Rohit to hurt my friend's feelings, like you...'' She stops mid sentence , her eyes shining like little fireballs and lips quivering with anger. Sid looked at her and felt like a bolt of lightning hit him from nowhere. For a second, he did not know what to say. It felt like they had picked up from the altercation they had a couple of months back. She didn't seem affected then...at least she pretended not to. She handled his betrayal with an unnerving calmness and resolve to not breakdown. And even though his admiration for her, grew up several notches for the poise she showed, it always made him feel that maybe he didn't matter enough to her. But now, it seemed he did, and the hurt was as much if not more! He didn't know whether to be happy about the fact or sad coz she was hurt too.

He let the thoughts go by..For now what mattered was this confrontation, even if ugly, this was the first time in months they were talking to each other. Sid, couldn't help but cherish the fact that she stood infront of him, addressing him, looking into his eyes, accusing him, reminding him of the heartbreak and pain he caused her. He knew he deserved it and he was happy that she didn't bottle it up and was letting it all out even if as an excuse to protect her friend.

He regains his composure and shoots back !!

'Bina puri baat sune , lecture dene ki teri adat gayi nahi na? ' he mocked her winking at Rohit who was standing behind exchanging sad looks with Simi. ' Apna bhashan dene se pehle, apni dost se puchle wo kya chahti hai? Bechare Rohit tau sirf...''

'Bechara Rohit?! Yeah right! Tumne is bechare ko pichli baar bacha liya tha. Lekin is baar mein aisa kuchh hone nahi dungi. Apne bechare dost se kehna meri dost se door rahe samjhe?! She takes hold of Simi's hand and marches away towards the dorm. Simi turns back to look at Rohit who was waving a good bye looking extremely sad.

Sid looks at Siyali walk away. ' Sadu amma'', he smiles fondly. ' Chal! ' he swings a hand around Rohit's shoulder and the two of them walk towards the boys dorm.

Siyali was still upset with the entire situation. Simi walks up to her half hesitant, not sure if she should bring it up now. ' Sun Siyali.. wo mein! ' she starts ' Wo Rohit actually mujhse sorry keh raha tha, ' she tells her.

' Simi tu us Rohit pe kaise bharosa kar sakti hai? He is a liar and a coward. Bhul gayi kya kiya tha usne?'' Siyali was in no mood to trust him.

'Mujhe sab yaad hai. He admit his mistake and he was genuinely apologizing, '

' Jo tujhe thik lage. Mein kabhi us ladke pe bharosa nahi kar sakti jisne ek baar mere sath dhoka kiya ho. Chahe fir wo... kitni mafi maange, ' Siyali tells her and goes to bed.

Is that true? Will Sid ever apologize to me for what he did? And will I ever be able to forgive him? No!! I hate him! I should always hate him. I can never let myself ... I am not going to give in this time. Sidhharth Rajput, I hate you! She closed her eyes and sleep took over her troubling thoughts.

' Tujhe sach mein apni galtiyo ka ehsaas hai?'' Sid asks Rohit who was playing sad notes on his guitar.

He keeps his guitar aside and looks up at Sid ' Mein Simi ko pasand karta hun Sid aur mein sach mein sorry hun! I behaved like a jerk... a loser that day. I wanted to apologize to her and be friends with her. I think I really like her Sid and she does too...lekin tum dono ne sab kuchh bigad diya''

'Thik hai.. I promise you I will sort this out for you but you have to promise me that you will not hurt her... ever.or else you know me! '

'I promise you brother! He hugs Sid smiling. 'But what about Siyali? She will never let me get close to Simi''

' Wel see...good nite! ' Sid assures him not exactly sure how he was going to convince Siyali.

He climbs up to his bunker bed, pulls his sheet and goes to sleep. As he closes his eyes, he thinks about the entire incident. How her eyes were glowing like angry fireflies, her little nostrils flaring up in anger... the cute little finger she was pointing at him! Sid smiles. Gusse mein bhi kitni pyari lagti hai !! he dozes off eventually...

Scene 5 : Principal's office

Krisanne was waiting in principal's office just when the peon comes in and keep a white envelope on her table and leaves. She looks at the envelope raising a brow. What could it possibly be?she thinks. Not able to hold back her urge to read it, she picks it up from the table and hides it under her blazer just on time before Urmila walks in.

' Happy birthday Krisanne! 'Urmila says closing the door behind her. Krisanne jumps frightened of being caught red handed stealing an official letter. 'Thank you maam! '

'So your parents have send everything that you would need for your birthday party tonight, including a pretty dress! 'she says smiling at her. 'Contact Vibha to get all your stuff and I hope you have a great party. Now if you may excuse me, I have some work'' she says sitting down on her chair.

'Sure maan! And thank you once again, ' Krisanne says leaving the office with her arm close to her body at the odd angle.

Scene 6: Girls/ Boys dormitories ( evening 7 pm )

Girls were dressing up to look their best for tonight birthday bash. Krisanne was looking lovely in a silk turquoise off shoulder gown, with her hair in soft curls and red lips. 'My parents got me this gown for my birthday'' she says adjusting her frills. The girls stand around her admiring her expensive gown and jewellery. ' Cmon you girls! Get ready fast, we don't want the boys to keep waiting! ' she says cheerfully. There is chaos all around as the girls start doing their hair, makeup. Krisanne walks upto Siyali 'You are coming right?'', she asks her smiling.

'Krisanne! I can't come alone... you have to invite Niti and Simi too! If not, then ... Happy birthday and I hope you have a great time! ' Siyali smiles back at her.

' Well of course, they are invited. This is Krisanne's party and everyone is invited.'' She extends her hand to Niti and Simi, both of who look at her, not convinced at all with this act of kindness.

Siyali looks at them and gestures them to accept her invitation.

' hmm...happy birthday Krisanne! See you at the party then! ' Niti fakes a smile. Simi nods in approval

'Great!'' Krisanne glides away to join her friends who had launched into a major make up session almost on a war scale!

' Tu ne kaha isliye...'' Niti clears it out looking at Siyali. The three of them dress up to look as pretty as they could with whatever they could manage. Siyali was looking very pretty in a soft lavender colored churidar kameez in cotton net. Simi did Niti's make up and then both got dressed up for the party. Niti was wearing a pink frilly skirt with white top and Simi was wearing a white lacy gown. Both looking very cute and excited.

In the boy's dorm also, everyone was getting ready though there was no rush and urgency. Everyone except Sid, who was lying on his bunker bed with hands at the back of his head, lost in his thoughts.

' Yo! Brother! Aint you coming?'' Charlie asks Sid spraying perfume all over.

' I don't know man! She invited me this morning... but I don't know if I should, '

' Listen! She is over you alright?! She doesn't give a damn about you now. So you don't have to feel bad about anything. Now get up and get ready, ' Charlie shakes him up.

' She doesn't give a damn about me! Wow! Thanks buddy! That feels nice! Fineee, gimme a minute! ' Sid jumps out of his bed straight onto the floor and gets his ripped faded blue denims and mauve full sleeved shirt. He quickly changes, gels his hair up and sprays his favorite cologne all over himself.

'Aaah! That smells nice'' Rohit says looking at Sid. He throws the bottle at him and lets him use it. 'Thanks bro!''

' Chalein?'' It was Parth! He was dressed up casually too in blue jeans and a white fitted Tshirt looking very dashing.

' Yaar! Mere aise biceps hote na , tau mein bhi aisi Tshirt pehenta, ' Utkarsh says combing his hair.

'Usse kya farak padta hai! Aaj ki party ka chief guest tau tu hi hai, ' Parth laughs at him.

' Saaaleyy ! ' Utkarsh turns around and throws his comb at Parth who ducks just on time, so that the comb hits Sid on his head. He looks back and sees Utkarsh standing petrified. All the boys freeze on their spots, expecting Sid to jump on Utkarsh and break his skull.

' Chal ! ' Sid tells Charlie and leaves the room, leaving everyone surprised.

'Ye Gabbar Gandhi kabse ban gaya? ' Dishank asks Rohit and they all start laughing!!

Scene 7 : Krisanne's birthday party

The party was organized in the school auditorium. There was a big banner that had 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISANNE'' written on it, in glittering gold. The place was decorated with balloons, string lights, paper lanterns , little LED disco crystal balls. There was a DJ playing groovy music so the whole feel was very peppy and jazzy. There was a huge chocolate rainbow cake kept on a round table in the center of the hall.

'Wow! This is amazing Krisanne,'' Ruhi exclaims examining the decor with wide eyes. Everyone was very impressed by the arrangements because it was so lavish and on such a large scale.

' What do you expect!? This is Krisanne's birthday party after all! ' Krisanne says loftily. 'My parents always throw very lavish parties. And you girls are lucky to be part of one of those! '

' Yes! Ofcourse! ' everyone agrees.

All the boys go upto Krisanne and wish her happy birthday. She looks so delighted at getting all the attention. ' Thank you guys! ' she smiles at all of them. Sid was hiding behind Charlie. She walks up to Utkarsh and takes his hand without any warning.

' Ask me for a dance'' she demands taking his hand.

' Huh!?'' Utkarsh looks behind to get some help from Parth on this. He had no idea what was going on.

Before he realized she had pulled him closer, put his hand on her waist and started waltzing on a soft music she asked the DJ to play. Utkarsh looked like a pale ghost, unable to breathe or move a muscle. He felt like a ragged doll who was being carried around with no control of his own!

Parth and Sid looked at each other, and despite all the animosity they had between them, they couldn't help breaking into a laugh together.

Just then, Niti, Siyali and Simi walk into the hall and see Utkarsh and Krisanne dancing in the center of the room with boys and girls cheering. ' Bechara! ' Niti couldn't help but feel sorry for her friend.

Sid looks at Siyali at the entrance and for a moment he thought everything else had miraculously gone out of focus in the room. All he could see was this incredibly beautiful girl standing in front of him, her delicate silhouette glowing like a pearl in the dim lighting of the room. Her long soft curls were falling carelessly over her shoulder, caressing her blushed cheeks every now and then. Those huge hazel hued almond eyes, looking around slightly nervous were so captivating in black kohl. She can look nothing but pretty, always and in anything she wears! Sid thinks trying hard to look away from her but fails nonetheless.

' Ahaa! Matching matching! ' Charlie's voice tore through the serenity that had momentarily consumed him. Suddenly the blaring music, the noise of people talking and laughing, brought him back to reality.

'What?'' he asks stealing a shy glance at Siyali again.

'You and Siyali! Both are somewhat color coordinated tonight!'' Charlie winks at him.

' Yah! I know! So funny right?! Let's get a drink, ' He drags Charlie to the table where soft drinks and fruit juices were served.

Everyone was now on the dance floor. Utkarsh had managed to get away from Krisanne, making the lamest excuse possible, an injured foot!!! ' Listen I think I have twisted my ankle trying to do that waltz step you taught me! ' he tells Krisanne limping on his right leg.

'Awww poor baby! You were so good! We must practice again, when you feel better!'' she says beaming at him.

'Baby?! ' Utkarsh was not able to register what just happened..! He walks up to Parth and the next half an hour stations himself next to the food counter hogging everything that was there to eat.

'Bas kar, pet kharab ho jayega'' Parth tries to snatch the slice of pizza from his hand.

' Us Krisanne ke sath dance karne se tau accha hai!...baby? ' he mumbles still in shock of being addressed by that name.

Parth smiles and looks at Vibha who was talking to Rishabh sir. I wish I could talk to her once... but I don't want to put her in any sort of trouble, he thinks. He couldn't help but admire how ethereally beautiful she looked in her silk blue salwar kameez with printed dupatta pinned onto her shoulder. Her long silky black tresses that he loved to touch and feel, were loose and open, just as he loved.

Vibha goes and talks to Krisanne who nods her head in agreement.

'OK! Everyone!! It's time for Krisanne to cut her birthday cake. Let's all wish the birthday girl together! ' Vibha announces.

Everyone gathers around the table that had the huge three tiered rainbow chocolate cake on it. Vibha lit the candles for Krisanne and asks her to step forward.

'Happy birthday dear Krisanne! ' everybody sings and claps for her as she blows the candles and cuts the cake. Everyone has their share of the cake and wish her happy birthday.

' This is a small something for you'' Sid gives her a gift wrapped somewhat neatly in a blue glossy paper. Krisanne looks kinda surprised. ' What is this? ' She opens the gift and what she holds in her hand leaves her stunned for a second but she eventually smiles. It was a small cuddly cute teddy bear that was holding a heart saying ' friends forever'' and a little note tucked in that said 'Please forgive me! ' She hugs Sid. ' You might be a jackass of the first order Siddharth Rajput, but you are forgiven today! ' she smiles and he smiles back. For all those years that they had known each other, Siddharth and Krisanne , did have a bonding that was hard to explain. It may not have been equally matched or balanced but that didn't negate the fact that they both cared for each other. Today they were both glad, that they could start afresh and be friends with no past baggage or bitter feelings of a failed relationship.

The party was rocking! Everyone was having a good time dancing, enjoying music and the food.

' Tujhe kya hua?'' Charlie asks Rohit who was staring his glass of coke as if considering to drown himself in it! Sid looks at him and understands the cause of his silent mourning. ' Devdas'' he says in an undertone shaking his head.

'Alright boys and girls! Enough of dancing. Let's do some fun here! Yah?'' Sid taps his glass with a fork to gets everyone's attention.

'Paper dance? What' say guys? ' he asks everyone looking around. 'Yayyy!!!!'' all of them shout super excited specially the boys at the prospect of getting an opportunity to get close with the pretty girls.

' Ye kya hai? ' Siyali and Niti ask Simi.

'Ye ek couple dance hai.. paper ke upar! Khelte hain na, bada maza ayega ' Simi explains super excited. Siyali and Niti are thoroughly confused. Niti looks at Charlie and surprisingly decides to play the game.

'Siyali hume in ladko ko dikha dena hai, ki hume koi farak nahi padhta inke hone se. Hum kyun maatam manaye inke liye? Hum khelenge! ' she tells Siyali determined yet not sure how exactly the game is played.

'Par Niti...'' before Siyali could finish, Niti holds her hand and walks up to the center of the hall where everyone had gathered to play the game. Sid explains the rules. Vibha takes charge of the music and Rishabh sir becomes the score keeper cum judge of the game.

So it's decided that girls with pick one chit and whichever boy's name is written on it, will be the partner for that girl.

Since it was Krisanne's birthday she does the honor first! She picks a chit hoping it to be Utkarsh who was biting his nails in nervousness, praying it's not him.

' Siddharth! ' Krisanne announces. Her face falls in disappointment. She looks at Utkarsh and apologizes. He somehow manages to look sad and says, ' Koi baat nahi'' and gives her a thumbs up, feeling super relieved!

'Ooo! ' everyone claps for Krisanne and congratulate her while she makes faces. Sid goes and stands next to her, looking at Siyali who looked like her eyes were fixed on a the half eaten cake on the table, determined not to look at him or anywhere near him.

Next up was Prerna. She picks Dishank, her junior's name. Both stand together, as everyone cheers them too, everyone except for Rahul who was very upset.

Ruhi chose Jitesh, the guys with glasses who fancied her.

Simi had her fingers crossed before she picks her chit and to her relief it was Rohit. He pumps his fist in air out of joy and goes to stand next to Simi, giving a thumbs up to Sid for the superb plan!

Then it was Siyali's turn. Sid looks at her and the remaining boys. She was ready to back out when suddenly Niti pushes her to the front.

'Can I dance with Utkarsh?'' she blurts out nervously. Utkarsh gets up happily ready to stand next to Siyali when suddenly Krisanne speaks up, ' I am sorry! Utkarsh is hurt, so he can't dance. You have to pick some other guy!''

Resigned to her fate and failing at her last attempt to duck the game, Siyali nervously pulls out a name out of the bowl.

''Parth! ' she says looking around to find him in the hall. Parth comes to the front, walks upto Siyali and whispers in her ears, '' Mujhe dance nahi ata ''

''Chupchap khada reh yehi! Utkarsh dance nahi kar sakta. Tum dono ke alawa mujhe aur kisi ke sath dance nahi karna, '' she holds his hand and makes him stand next to him. Sid, who was watching everything from an arms distance,suddenly feels an unpleasant pain at the pit of his stomach. He looks away hoping to feel better by avoiding to look at Siyali standing so close to Parth.

Last turn was Niti's. Since Charlie was the only guy left, they get paired together.

''Dur rehke dance karna, samjha?'' Niti warns Charlie pointing a finger at him. Her instruction was clear indication of the fact that she did not know about the game at all. Dur rehke? How is that possible? Charlie thinks worried as they walk towards the dance floor, Niti marching ahead of him.

Each of the couples stand on a sheet of paper that allows them to stand across each other at a comfortable distance. Vibha plays the music and the game begins!

Charlie from his height could barely see Niti's feet so he was hardly moving, afraid of hurting her, while Niti was doing all moves possible, occasionally stepping on Charlie's toes intentionally and unapologetically!

Krisanne was having a good time dancing with Sid. But whenever she looked at Utkarsh, she would pull Sid closer in an attempt to make him jealous. Sid realizes her trick so decides to play along, the only downside being that Utkarsh who was busy eating was far from jealous. He was, infact cheering Siyali, Parth and Niti.

Siyali who wasn't aware of the whole drama being enacted by Sid to help Krisanne make Utkarsh jealous, was swearing at him. ' Just look at him! Shameless! ' she says sounding disgusted . She was so distracted by Sid that even without realizing she keeps her arms around Parth and gets close to him, looking at Sid the whole time.

Parth gets a little conscious of the proximity with Siyal. They were good friends but Siyali had never behaved like this with him. What's wrong with her? he thinks. He looks in Utkarsh's direction but finds Vibha looking at him. He immediately pushes Siyali away. Vibha turns around and starts talking to Rishabh.

Simi and Rohit take good opportunity of the situation. Rohit again apologizes to her, which she accepts with a smile. ' Your friend Siyali is going to hate me for getting close to you'' he tells her.

''Don't worry she is far too distracted to keep an eye on us tonight! ' she says looking at Siyali who was looking very upset for some reason.

Dishank and Prerna have a close and cozy dance, looking into each other's eyes, smiling and grooving in sync. Rahul who was looking at them constantly was burning with anger and jealousy. He hated Dishank for getting close to the girl he fancied. Prerna, however, had no interest in him, which angered him more. ' I will make sure I get you out of my way, Dishank! Just wait and watch ' he vows in anger.

The game goes on for a while. Sid was bored of play acting for Krisanne, who was equally bored of failing to make Utkarsh jealous. So both of them give up. Siyali and Parth also decide to give up coz the paper had got too small for them to stand without getting uncomfortably close. 'Mujhe aur nahi khelna Siyali'' he tells her honestly, and they both step down.

'Kya bakwas game thi! Ye sab idea, Sid ke dimag me hi aa sakta hai, ' she grumbles

In the end, Niti and Charlie win the game by virtue of Charlie who was able to lift Niti and stand on one foot for longest time. They forget everything for a second and celebrate the moment, punching their fists together'We won! Woohooo!'' Charlie exclaims.

' Thanks! Iske liye aur uske liye bhi ' Niti says and walks away.

Charlie goes and joins he boys. ' Yaar ye ladkiyon ka bhi kuchh samajh nahi ataa , ' he confesses to Sid looking at Niti

'Ladkiyon ko aaj tak kon samajh paya hai, jo tu samajh lega?'' Sid pours coke in his glass and laughs.

' Sahi keh raha hai bhai! Ab ye Niti ko hi le le...'' before Charlie could finish, he saw Sid throw his glass and fling himself on Rahul. Before anyone could understand what happened, the two of them, Sid and Rahul, were rolling on top of each other on the floor, punching each other's face.

' Kya kar raha tha?!! Pichhli baar bhi tu hi tha na? Bol !! ' Sid was furious on Rahul. He was holding his collar with one hand and punching him with another. Everyone gathered around them, were shocked. Charlie and Rishabh were trying to pull them apart but Sid kept kicking his butt!

'Kya ho raha hai yeh?!'' Rishabh shouts at Siddharth.

'Sir ye Sid pagal ho gaya hai! ' Rahul says trying to stand up. Siyali looks at Sid disappointed by his behavior. Always at the thick of things! Why can't you stay out of trouble Siddharth?! She thinks.

' Sir, isse pucho ye party me alcohol kyun laya?'' Sid tells Rishabh pointing at Rahul. He had caught Rahul tying to spike Dishank's drink.

' Ye jhuth bol raha hai sir! Ye mera nahi hai. Alcohol ye khud laya tha. Aur jab mene ise pakad liya tau sara blame mere upar daal diya . Pichli baar Parth ke drink me bhi isi ne alcohol milaya tha, yaad hai sir?'' Rahul spun the whole story to save his ass. Sid lunges on him threatening to kill him if he lies.

' Sid ! You have no shame whatsoever, do you? Your head boy badge was taken away from you because of all this. And yet you bring alcohol to the party and beat up a student mercilessly! Are you ever going to learn Siddharth? ' Rishabh says angrily

'But sir...!''

'I don't want to hear a word now! This party is over and Siddharth Rajput, I am going to see you in the principal's office tomorrow morning.''

'One minute sir! ' It was Rohit who had walked up to the center of action. ' It's not Siddharth! He did not bring alcohol to this party and neither was he the one who spiked Parth's drink last time!''

Everyone was speaking in hush tones now. Utkarsh and Parth walk upto the front too.

' Yes sir! It was Rahul who spiked Parth's drink last time. I wanted to tell the truth when Sid asked all of us in the dorm but Rahul stopped me because he was scared of facing Parth's wrath. So he let Sid take the entire blame on himself, get involved in a fight with Parth, which ultimately made him loose his head boy badge!''

There was a loud murmur in the hall now. Parth looks at Sid and then Utkarsh who did not know what to say. Siyali was listening to the entire conversation, wanting to speak but something kept holding her from doing so.

'Why should I believe you? Do you have any one else backing up your claim? Remember you will have to narrate this entire incident infront of Anwesha maam tomorrow. So you better know what you talking'' Rishabh tells him.

' I know sir! You can ask all the boys in the dorm. Everyone except for Parth and Utkarsh know that Sid did not spike anyone's drink. ' All the boys support Rohit on this. 'Yes sir! Rohit is right ' they all say in chorus.

' You all may be ganging up on one guy, for all I know! ' Rishabh was not ready to trust the boys knowing well that they will support Siddharth over Rahul.

' You can trust me sir! ' Siyali walks past a stunned Siddharth to face Rishabh.

' I had overheard the conversation in the boys dorm where Sidhharth was asking them to tell the name of the boy who had spiked Parth's drink. But he did gang up on Parth and beat him up badly, which is why I thought he was rightly punished.'' She looks at Parth, Niti and Utkarsh who were all shocked to hear the revelation.

' Well! This matter will be taken to the principal's office tomorrow and she will decide what action to take! ' Rishabh tells everyone and asks them to go back to their dorms immediately.

Sid, who still couldn't believe that Siyali spoke in his defense, gets a jolt when Charlie shakes him up!

'Sid! Hello! Chal!!''

Without replying to Charlie he runs out of the hall. There he sees Siyali walking away towards the girl's dorm with Niti and Simi.

He runs to catch up with her and stops right in front of her. ' Siyali... thank you..'' was all he could manage.

' Unlike you Siddharth Rajput! I stand by truth, no matter how inconvenient it is. Yes, it's inconvenient for me to imagine that you could not do anything wrong. In this case, you didn't, so you get my support. But that is where it finishes. No more and no less!'' she walks away leaving him overwhelmed and awed at the same time.

Scene : 8 ( Morning, Principal's office )

Siddharth, Rahul, Rohit, Parth and Siyali are summoned to the principal's office first thing in the morning.

'Speak up Rohit! Tell the entire incident just the way you told us yesterday'' Rishabh says looking at him.

Rohit narrates the entire incident, from spiking of Parth's drink to what happened last night. Siyali gives her version of the story. Parth admits that he did not see Sid spike his drink but he assumed that it was him because he was the one who organized the party.

Rahul realizing that his trick had backfired on him and he has no support from anyone, finally accepts his mistake and pleads for forgiveness.

Anwesha hears everyone out patiently and then stands up to address the students.

' Despite me warning you all last time, there was a ruckus last night! Alcohol is strictly prohibited on campus, then how are students able to smuggle all this? Mr. Rishabh? ' she looks at Rishabh who hangs his head down not knowing what to say.

'Alcohol, drugs, X-rated films, is this what you are here for?! Rahul, you are a senior student! What sort of an example you think you are setting for your juniors!? Disgraceful!! You will be suspended from school for this entire semester. If you want to make up for all the grades that you will be losing this semester, you will have to shift your focus on your studies, rather than things like alcohol etc. And if you think you can't cope up with the pressure, I suggest you quit right now! Do what pleases you but I will not allow you to pollute the environment of my school. Do you get that?! ' her thunderous voice echoes in the whole room.

Rahul was so terrified that he could not speak a word after that.

'Siddharth Rajput! ' she walks upto him and looks up at his face, trying to gauge his thoughts. Rohit, Siyali and Parth look in his direction too.

' You caught him in the act of mixing alcohol in someone else's drink, so you decided to punish him yourself? I asked the teachers to look over the proceedings last night, exactly for this reason. This is the problem with your generation. Impulsiveness, ego and anger is only going to cloud your judgements and make you regret later on. And this is for all of you'' she says looking at the other three.

'Anyway, I appreciate the fact that you stopped a mishap from occurring last night by not letting Rahul mess up with any of the students, albeit the wrong way. I, therefore, as a reward decide to give you,your head boy badge back! ' she smiles at him and pins the badge back on his blazer. Sid stands there upright and in perfect composure, trying hard to not let his eyes get moist because he knew Siyali was watching him.

All four of them walk out of the room. Before Urmila could say anything in objection to her decision, Anwesha raises a hand, ' He needed it this time..''

Sid, happy to get his badge back was adjusting it on his blazer when Parth walks up to him..

' Sid... I misunderstood you that day...it was my fault''

'Its ok! I hit you, so we are even...It's all in the past...'' It was an awkward moment where they knew that they were not the best of friends yet they felt a connection that was very real. They both walk towards the boy's dorm together without speaking another word to each other, like a silent understanding.

Siyali stood there looking at the two of them and thinking of the difficult times ahead. Sid is back as head boy!!!*sigh* She resigns to fate and hopes for the best...
