TOI:Hindi GECs end shows within months of their launch

Daily soaps on Hindi general entertainment channels going off-air is not exactly a new phenomenon and doesn't come as surprise anymore to viewers. Typically, no thanks to the fractured viewership pattern, Hindi GECs tend to pull off shows when they fail to deliver the requisite numbers. From lead actors quitting shows, falling sick or the storylines having 'run it's course' Hindi soaps now come with an expiry date depending solely on their ability to connect with the audiences.

Warrior High
Air time: 5 months

Even an interesting campus tale with oodles of cutsie moments between the couples, could not help grab enough attention for the show. The show's makers feel there's isn't enough storyline to continue. The only heartening news is that a second season is being planned for the show.

What do producers have to say when the Hindi GECs pull the plug on their respective shows barely weeks after their launch, without even giving it enough time to settle on the screen and connect with the audience? Producer Sukesh Motwani says, "Most of the time showmakers and channel don't want to stretch the storylines meaninglessly and end the soap when the going's good. In case of 'Nisha Aur Uske Cousins', we (the makers) and the channel, felt that turning our show into a typical saas-bahu show or giving it a time leap would have been totally pointless considering the young feel of the show would have been completely marred. In the current situation, hardly two out of 20 shows make it to the 500 episode mark." Arvind Babbal, producer of the seven month old 'Mahakumbh...' that wraps up this week says, "It is better to have a defined storyline. Stretching any show beyond a point makes it meaningless for the audience and the show's producers. If we made Mahakumbh an infinite series, it would have lost its charm."

Do actors feel that some concrete time must be given to shows to prove their worth to the target audience? As Chandni Bhagwanani shares, "It's really sad that lots of shows are ending abruptly because of poor TRPs. Shows take time to make an impact with the audience, so instead of pulling the plug off, the channel should give new shows some more time to settle."

However in the soapy world where TRPs decide ad revenue, numbers are important for survival of any show and nothing can change that!

Not much of a storyline to continue with...seriously??

I guess S2 will be back with different characters & a different story but with the same cast.

That still seems bearable but what if they change the pairings in S2? How are most of us going to stomach that🤢

These idiots have experimented/want to experiment so much with WH so I really wouldn't put it past them to do such a thing as well😡

Those on twitter should send in tweets to VG saying that we want the -

Same Cast, Same Storyline & Same Pairs in S2 as well.

These sort of articles make me think whether these people even know what they are saying is true or is someone trying to hide something. Some say the show was only meant to be on air for 6 months max while some say it's storyline or low Trp ratings 😡

yeah, there are so many conflicting reports. some say that limited shows get extended if they are doing well, so why isn't this the case for WH? some say that it was meant to be limited, so they will end it and be back with season 2 because it is so popular. and some say that a comeback with season 2 is just a rumour and may not happen!
confusion to the maximum!!

i personally wish for a season 2 with the same cast and same couples...
whatever the grand plot may be
