Raj has always been good to Simmi. He's always had her best interests at heart.
This theory sounds far fetched.
If he had wanted Chander to marry Simi, he wouldn't have helped Preet prevent the Chander Simmi wedding.

But then Raj only cares for his own family and reputation, according to SD. For all Preet knows, Raj was acting like he cares for Simran to lull Preet into a false sense of security.

How would winning a competition with Chander guarantee that he'll leave Preet and marry Simmi?
Preet does not even know what those two are talking about.
How is she to know the contract between them?

We don't know what she's heard and what she hasn't heard.

If she does overhear enough to figure out exactly what the challenge is for, she'll know that Raj is trying to get Chandar to go back to marrying Simran.

You know, according to the precap they said whether there will be a cleft between Rajpreet when they were showing the towel scene... So Preet might think that Raj is getting close to her to win the competition and might be disgusted by his actions. And obviously Chander will win the first round as it was shown in precap and Raj has to work harder to please the audience and also the sd scene in which he feeds sd rather than Preet.

What you are saying isn't impossible.
But it all depends on, as you say, what she has heard and what she chooses to conclude of it.
Raj has even refused to sign the divorce papers even when he fully knew that that would mean Simi would be free and she does not even know that reason for it.
But then again, this whole track is stupid. Why shouldn't Raj tell Preet that he loves her?
She may not believe it, but that's besides the point.
The reason Raj isn't confessing is because Chander does not want it!
How stupid can that get?!
How would Chander even know that Raj has or hasn't confessed to Preet for Raj to have accepted the challenge?!
So illogical!
So I don't see any logic in Preet's thinking either. They can make her think anything under the sun!

The characters assume a lot of things. Chandar probably believes that Preet is a virgin too but he can't know for sure. Then there's that idiot Mohini who really believed that Raj loved SD. I mean what?

I am not expecting Preet to feed Raj though.
This will go on for another month or so. Especially if this track brings in the much wanted numbers.
They may make Preet turn against Raj initially. So that we get to see his battered expressions more. Which is what the aunties want too.

According to me, anything is acceptable. Just please don't make Chander fall in love with Preet!
