The police are investigating . From what I read.

I saw the news on mobile but now I can't find it anywhere! Some People mindset has still not changed. Even when the world has moved forward and the technology has already advanced. ... *sigh* i usually don't like talking about this subject, life rape, female infanticide, murder. ...hearing this kinds of news and talk makes me feel depressed. People always talk about this matter, I think. ...ask we can do is talk . There are many shows, showing people how to be aware. ...and all. ...but I wonder is anyone one of us people are actually making any effort to stop this. I here people always talk about it. ...this is what I think. Maybe I'm wrong maybe there are people trying to stop all this, trying to create awareness among people. ...maybe it's just me. ..

People are trying to create awareness but it's a very slow process, especially in a country with such a huge population. But it's difficult in villages where men don't even seem to know that the gamete from the father determines the sex of a zygote.

This is because of severe lack of sex education. They are just not aware of the fact that they are the ones that are responsible for deciding the gender of the baby, albeit indirectly. It is not like that they can control the kind of chromosomes that the release.

But still they are the ones who are responsible. And deliya you make some truly valid points. But they are theoretical correct but practically impossible. Daughter will eventually marry someone and go to her in laws place. The fathers are very well aware that their daughter will need her husband and inlaws support to care for them. And since they did the same thing with their wives they are very well aware that their daughter will need permission to even visit them let alone care for them. Son in law is not going to allow his wife to care for them and if she tries she will be tortured. So they know that no matter what even if she wants to care for them she won't be able to do it so they bring their hopes on their sons.

Maybe the cvs are trying to turn Bubbly into the Waaris.
Or am being too hopefull?

Few years ago the issue of female foeticide was really hot during the debates, elocution competitions, one act plays, Street plays. The college competitions would be incomplete without one topic concerning the female foeticide.
It was commercialized to the extent that it became irrelevant. Almost a joke. The whole India was talking about this. Now people feel that the issue has been taken care of.

Even in relatively modern houses and families there is gender disparity. Girls are treated differently than boys. Like when a girl is on her period she is not allowed to enter the temple of the house. She is not allowed near certain foodstuff. If the boy is in the house she is not allowed to say the aarti that is the prayers that are said in the evening. I have seen it happening with my eyes. As I have said before the gender roles are embedded so deeply in the minds of the youth that turning around is gonna be very difficult.

And if I remember correctly a girl still finds it difficult to inherit a father's property. The law still doesn't support this thing.
