Hi everyone
i normally just read posts but since Viruddh is ending, i decided to pen my thoughts..
I must confess at the outset my sadness that surrounds the issue of viruddh ending. The difference in the storyline set virrudh apart from the other series. This fresh plot is what had me gripped and waiting as the new twist and turns were revealed.
From the first day I started watching the show, I was mesmerised.
The sets were different: modern & fresh, the characters each bringing a different mix into the show. There were people I just loved from day one and others I loved to hate. The fashion stylist chose just the perfect costume for the character; each look accentuated the role of the character and the scene at that point in time.
Smriti – your look in this show was so different from Kyuki that it revealed a whole other side to you. Your onscreen chemistry with Sushant was truly awesome however at times I wished I could just bash your heads together. Smriti and Sushant fuelled the characters of Vasuddha and Sushant creating an onscreen explosion. For me as the viewer, I was constantly on an emotional rollercoaster as their relationship in the series changed. I still remember the days when I wanted to cry when the situation with Vasuddha, Sushant and Vikram seemed to be spinning out of control. Is it really possible in reality to love someone so much and also inflict that much pain on them at the same time?
The character of Vedika was awesomely played by Achint, I am surprised that she did not get the award for best villain. It was clear from day one that Vedika was always concerned about her own future and status. She never really did anything unless she stood to profit from it. She was jealous of every one of Vassudha's relationships and destroyed her relationship with Vikram due to social status.
Very true in reality – change a person so that they suit what your perception of them is instead of letting them be just who they are.
The rest of the cast is a fine blend of actors each with a unique streak. The characters that really irritated me from the moment they arrived were Naina and Sidhart, whereas Vedant and Sandya made an adorable onscreen couple. I see Nani,Bhuwa and Nimoy as the jesters of the show. The one thing I hope would happen before the last episode is for Shalini to speak. She has gone on for just too long without saying a word. It would be the cherry on the cake if she were to bless (with words) Sushant and Vassudha if they wed before the last episode as well.
Lastly, thanks to Smriti Irani and her entire team for an awesome show like Virrudh. I can only be hopeful that another of the same cailbre will be screen in the near future on sony entertainment asia by Ugraya as we do not get Star plus or star one in SA.
I am really going to miss the Virrudh.
