On hearing Vikram's proposal, Vasudha slaps himš. He remains cool and mocking. Vasu says she will never accept it. He reminds her of Shreya. Just then Shreya comes in out of curiosity; Vikram tells her the case is nearly solved, but the verdict depends on Vasu's testimony. Shreya is puzzled and tries to see what is on the computer, but Vasu pushes her out of the room and says she will handle it. Vasu cries out, why does he want to ruin 4 lives for the sake of his revenge. Vikram says that Vedika and he can anyway never be together; Vedika will find solace with Sushant (gesturing towards Sush and Vedika dancing), so it's only Vasu's life that will be sacrificed. Even then, he will try after marriage to make her start loving him. Vasu gets furious at this, but he tells her to take her time, he can wait, but she should decide by Diwali.
Outside, the others are happily dancing away. Vedika sees Vasu emerge and purposely falls over Sush. Vasu watches this sadly. Sushant pulls Vasu into the dancing. The lights go off. Sush puts on a lighter and asks her why she is so quiet. She asks him, what if the astrologer's prediction comes true. He tells her to let the prediction see the light of their love. Vasu gets teary-eyed and says, I don't deserve you. He recites some romantic shayari to cheer her up and tells her that if she continues this way, he will cry too (I was close to itš). The lights come on, Vedika interrupts their moment, and Vasu is left reflecting sadly on the state of things. She thinks, maybe Sushant was never in my destiny.šš¤¢
On Diwali night:
Sush and Ved are doing Lakshmi pooja along with the staff at the DD office. Likewise, at the mansion there is pooja in progress. Vasu gets a call from Vikram asking her to meet him. Meanwhile Sush and Vedika, who are driving back home, see her going somewhere. When Sush tries to call her she doesn't pick up the phone. They follow her; she is in Vikram's home. Ved tries to make Sush jealous by saying that she seems to be spending a lot of time with Vikram these days. But Sushant says he has never doubted her, and never will.
Inside, Vikram greets her as the Lakshmi of his house. She glares at him. He tells her to go light the diya. She says that will ruin all her relationships. He tells her that is is upto her to decide, whether to save Shreya by lighting the lamp, or save herself by not doing so. She bitterly says that before she agrees, she has a few conditions. One, that he will arrest Sid for the murder of DRS. Two, that before their marriage, Vedika will be married. He smiles sardonically.
Sushant is looking at Vasu's photo and chiding himself for having doubted her, even for a while. Just then Ved calls him to ask, tauntingly, whether Vasu is with him, as she has not returned home yet. Sush is upset and worried.
It's fireworks at the mansion, thanks to Diwali. Vedant is celebrating with Sandhya when she suddenly starts reeling and falls down. Everyone rushes to her.
(So it's pretty obvious now that Vedika will marry Sushant, and Vasudha will have to be with Vikram. Gaah!š”)
