DRS gets petrified when the Rudraksh mala breaks. When he bends to pick up the beads, Vedika taunts him for being so scared and for bringing a "paagal aurat" to the house. He slaps her hard. A furious Vedika retorts that she wishes his death would come soon.
DRS tells Vasu to take Shalini to her room as all this excitement is bad for her. Sushant, who has arrived there, follows. He re-introduces himself to Shalini as VAsudha'a "boyfriend" (how cute!đł) and asks permission to marry her. But he wants one thing as dowryâShalini as his mother.đ She is so overwhelmed that she speaks out "Maa". Both of them are stunned. She says "Maa" 2-3 times and indicates with gestures that she feels hurt when Ved and Shreya taunt her. Sushant assures her that one day they will accept her as their mother.
DRS asks Guruji why he is getting bad results despite doing "punya". Guruji says he will have to do punya at the same rate with which he used to do "paap"đ to save hmself; he should perform a havan every morning before sunrise.
Shreya calls Sid; Sid cuts the call on seeing her number. Naina tries to force him to talk to Shreya and tell her the truth; but Sid slaps herđĄ so hard, she falls to the ground. Then he picks up Shreya's call. She demands why he did not meet Vedika that day at the club. He makes some excuse about a client. Shreya asks if he met "Natasha" there. He pretends not to recognize her name. just then Naina gets up and says "Yeh tumne theek nayhin kiya" and runs out of the house. Shreya hears her voice and is shocked. Sid says it was the TV that was on, cuts the call and rushes after Naina.
Naina collides with a car and guess who is driving itâRudraksh. She asks him to take her to Shreya as her fianc was not right for her. (She calls him "Bhaiya"âŚI remember they played husband and wife in Kkusum.đ) Rud obviously knows, but feigns innocence. Sid, who has followed her, also hears this. Naina and Rud get into the car and drive off.
VAsu tries to tell Shreya that by snubbing Shalini, she is missing out on mother's love but Shreya doesn't care to listen. Then Ved arrives and says she will divide the Rai Singhania house into piecesâeach heir will get his/her rightful share. ( I felt like I was watching Tulsi and Mandira.đ)
Nani and Bua are discussing DRS's fear when he comes holding his beads, and requests them to string them back. Just then they hear the wail of a cat. Nani says it's a bad omen.
Ved is drunk in her room. Her alter ego talks to her saying that she was always alone and will remain so; even her father let her down. She thinks, Vikram is my own, and calls him up. He knows from her voice that she is drunk, and tells her sternly that next time she drinks, he won't even talk to her.
A shattered Ved goes to the drawing room where DRS is doing the havan with Guruji. He tells her not to spoil the atmosphere with her alcohol, but she keeps coming closer, taunting him. The alcohol from her bottle spills over the carpet. Guruji tells her to go from there but she says he should be the one going away. DRS, in anger and tension, spills the diya and the carpet catches fire. Guruji and Ved get out but DRS is trapped in the fire.
