if you ignore putting in the serial number..it'll go ahead for the trial version..but if you've downloaded sony vegas before and the trial period expired and you redownloaded it now, then you will not be able to use unless you get a serial number... refer to the link above to get full version

Sony vegas has more options and affects and movie maker is limited to certain choices. Like in sony vegas, you can split the video screen in two and in movie maker, you can't do that.
