Surya is one of the sons of Aditi, so is Vamana. So Vamana is also a great great... grand uncle of Rama

One point I had mentioned in smr forum

In treta yug Vishnu as ram avtaar helped sugreev who is Surya putra and killed Indra putra bali

In dwapar yug Vishnu as krishna helps Indra putra Arjun and kills Surya putra karn

So weird and amusing 😄😄

Many consider that an act of balance. Also Vali was supposed to have been reborn as the hunter Jara whose arrow ended Krishna Avatar. Basically, Lord Vishnu helps whoever surrenders to him completely. It happened to be Sugreeva in Tretha and Arjuna in Dwapara Yugas.

By the way, when do you all celebrate/observe Hanuman Jayanthi? Is it celebrated in the central/north India?

Just curious since the practices may be different in the South.

Just as Jara.

Arjuna was believed to be an incarnation of Nara who happened to be born through Indra Deva and Kunti.

Thanks a lot for sharing.

I am not sure what Hanuman Vijayam means here but the South just celebrates Hanuman Jayanthi during December - January and beleive that date to be the birth anniversary...

I wonder if the second date refers to Maruti's revival after being struck by the Vajra or Hanuman remembering his powers after Jambavan reminds him or if it is a reference to him beginning his education with Surya.

He was the one who settled in Ayodhya since the river Sarayu was under the protection of his mother Saranya/Saranyu, Surya's first wife. Some versions say Saranyu was the Goddess of the river Sarayu and some other versions say she is the river or its personification.

So, Manu settled in Ayodhya and established his kingdom. He had 10 sons one of whom is Ikshvahu and thus continued the Solar Dynasty.
