why bcoz most kids living in states know their mother tongue hindi english and the language of that state and panjabi as well as it is the most easy language and considered fun language ...so majority of kids know more then 5 languages so if they know 4 -5 more languages no surprise in that...there was a programme in discovery channel why indians are the best in every field then they showed that average indian knows more then 5-6 languages and it is surprising that belonging to such a vast country of languages they know only 5-6 languages iit is v much possible for them to speak and write fluently in more then 10 languages and being a multilanguage people they easyily learn other international languages too as sanskrit makes it easy for indinas to pronounce any accent easily

ur so right dear..ppl take pride n say mujhe hindi nahi aati...or speak in hinglish...with lot of accent..lol...its really difficult to eradicate corruption as well...ppl dont get together n fight...instead look up fr source to progress n save themselves frm crimes...we want incredible india...not incorrigible india...
