Character progression in Uttaran

Please note this is how I see the changes…I have not blamed anyone for the changes as this is a storyline and we are talking about characters here.

1. JOGI – Repentant, decides to take care of Damini and treat Ichcha as his own, very astute, high awareness, nobody could fool him and not afraid to punish the guilty even if it meant it was his own daughter Tapasya……
2. Completely fooled by Tapasya, blind to what Pushkar is up to and pampering Tapasya through Veer knowing Ichcha is Veer's wife.😲
3. DAMINI - Honest, never took advantage of her position in the Thakur household and brought up Ichcha well, if one can forget that she advised Ichcha to pamper Tapasya always
4. Today she is advising Ichcha against pampering Tapasya, BUT cannot see that her Ichki is not happy.😕
5. Divya – Was never a mother to Tapasya and never went against Jogi's word as she supposedly loved and trusted him
6. Suddenly has become 'mummy dearest' gushing all over Tapasya, went against him regarding Masoom, apologized and then is back to suspecting something between Jogi and Damini…………..fortunately for now she is gone.
7. Ichcha – Has remained true to her character. She has never allowed herself to believe that Tapasya did not love her and was capable of any misdeeds. Married Vansh in the hopes that she could cure him and for me, remained true to him till his death.
8. If there is a change it is hardly noticeable but her silence is deafening and unrealistic in some situations. Her values and her love for Veer and Jogi remain unchanged.
9. Tapasya - Again remains true to her character. Always jealous of Ichcha and anything that Ichcha had.
10. The basic characteristics are the same……..she wants Veer at any cost because Ichcha has him.
11. Nani – Lousy character as a role model of a grandmother and she remains the same.😡
12. Mai – Was never an inspiring character, has now become demented in her desire for Vansh…..strange…. given that she never had much to do with his upbringing.
13. PUSHKAR, CHANDA, DADDAJI – all much the same for me………useless, trouble making and unbearable.🤢
14. VEER –For me his character has changed the most.. He was devoted, loyal, loving and absolutely fair in his approach. Always saw through Tapasya and was not afraid to tell even Jogi about her.
15. Today he is see-sawing between love for Ichcha and duty for Tapasya (some may think other wise) cannot see that Ichcha is unhappy (don't entirely blame him for that)Tapasya is taking him for a ride and he is behaving like a dumb puppet.
16. UMED – His change is the opposite. He has gone from a silent spectator to fighting for what is right and is no longer afraid to say so. Bravo!!!!⭐️

Jogi and Divya:

Both remain the same, in the sense, they do not know what their dear daughter is up to, even though they had a rude shock when they came to know what she was capable of... They live in their own dream world, wanting to trust their daughter and mistakenly assuming that she has changed for good.. In their wanting to shower their pregnant daughter with love, they fail to or refuse to see the difficulties and intrusions it may cause in their adopted daughter Ichcha's married life... Both Jogi and Divya are extremely insensitive to Ichcha's feelings in the present scenario.. Divya was never a devoted mother, but suddenly there will be spurts of motherly love from her out of nowhere exactly at the wrong times, like when she asked Ichcha to take care of Taps when she left her in B house.. Now when her only daughter is heavily pregnant, she is happily sightseeing in the US, which is most strange...I totally agree about Divya but not about Jogi before his change...........he definitely knew what his daughter was capable of which is why he sent her to boarding school but to no avail........and then the leap happened. Present day I agree wholeheartedly.

Ichcha and Tapasya:

Both are progressing in their respective tendencies, one sacrificing and forgiving and the other, scheming and destructive, to the fullest possible limit, giving raise to illogical and unimaginable situations...

Ichcha thinking of not betraying Tapasya and still wanting to give her a chance to save herself and Tapasya thinking of snatching Ichcha's happiness and pampering her ego come what may, both in extreme situations..

This is the result of the mental conditioning given to Ichcha by Damini and to Tapasya by Nani in their childhood... Agree we have just worded it differently and I like your version.

Veer:

There is a regression and deterioration in his character..

He started as a hero, then got bound by the kasams of his Mai, by the stubbornness of Ichcha in her refusal to marry him after divorce, then sacrifice for Vansh, but retained his status as hero by exposing Tapasya..

But now he looks like a gullible and sentimental fool and a joker, who cannot see through the deceptions of Tapasya, even though he claims to know her cheating character well.. Veer's character has been ruined thoroughly... Agree

Damini and Umed:

Both have a strong sense of value, but no capacity to enforce their thoughts into actions and they remain the same, but the slight change is that they have started doubting Tapni motives and are on Ichcha's side...They are astute and are wary of Tapasya's actions... These two characters alone seem to be shrewd and intelligent.. Present day agree but Damini is strangely disconnected with Ichcha at times..........yesterday being one of them.

Nani and Mai:

Both are mean arrogant characters who are class conscious and they remain the same, competing with each other in meanness.. Agree

In the case of Jogi what I mean is that he thinks or wants to think that once some harsh punishment is given to his daughter, everything becomes alright.. He assumes that the punishment has served its purpose and becomes complacent and blindly believes that his daughter has changed for good overnight, which is very impractical.. In that respect he has been the same, i.e. is ineffective, in dealing with the troublesome Tapasya from childhood as being strict does not work always...

Same case with Damini, the helpless maid in a big household, who desperately wants to believe her daughter when she says everything is fine, even though her common sense may indicate something to the contrary..

Both Jogi's and Damini's emotions and actions and reactions are driven by their blind love for their respective daughters, who successfully fool them...
