The writers of such shows are sending the wrong message !!!

All of us know how badly widows are treated in many parts of India. It is only in the cities that there has been some change in the mindset.Hav read horrifying stories about the widows in Benaras and other parts of India.

Television is a very strong medium.
IF serials are going to portray such orthodox and inhuman customs and beliefs of how a widow should live what she should wear etc.. IT IS DEFINITELY GOING TO UNDO ALL THE WORK OF THE GREAT PEOPLE OF THE PAST WHO FOUGHT FOR WOMEN'S CAUSE.

FRIENDS PLEASE VOICE YOUR OPINION. STOP CVS FROM AIRING SUCH NONSENSE.

I totally agree... I was shocked 😲to see that crap about Ichcha wanting to carry out all the widow restrictions ..n that too being shown on such a popular show like Uttaran.... This is a story based in the life of people living in the city... suddenly felt had come on the set of laado/ballika vadhu or some lost era village...
even in villages lot of people are more progressive nowadays... the whole thing looked so out of place that it was actually difficult to believe these people even thought of showing something so backward n disgusting...
Hope they are going to move on to show why all these orthodox restrictions shud be discarded n widows are also human and have the right to live as they wish...

God.. its a disgust ..... i hated all the drama yesterday.. real nonsense; how can they even show such things.... 😡 😡 ... i feel like puking at the thought of 'ek waqt ka khaana' cos she is a widow; and that female iccha is more irritating than her sister... its a shame to show such things on TV 😡 😡 .. this serial must be banned... 🤬

this is most disgusting message which CVs r promoting. and the worst thing is it is being glorified there. people say tht this system is in villages, but my root is village and i hv spend a lot of time in village and still visit whnever i go to India, but i hv never saw this tradition. there were a lot of widows in villages even in my family, but they never do such things, even not white saries. max, there were some marriage cermony where they cd not participate, but all this one time food, simple food, living isolated, wearing white dresses, (thnx god still not shown mundan) etc. is only i hv seen in films and these stupid serials. in which century they r living. they r just defaming religion and tradition too. shame.

well they are showing reality however bitter this reality might be...that widows are made to do these disgusting and degrading things in the name of tradition and religion! and this is prominent in isolated villages where there is not much education or forward thinking and is especially prominent in olden thakur families who have not become modernised yet. the truth is that these customs are still practiced all over India...widows seen as bad luck😡 like they arent a person and everyone degrades them🤢 they showed this in the movie Baabul also. This is one of the bad traditions still practiced about India...amongst things like honour kllings and all...the fact that widows are treated inhumanely and their right to live is snatched from them. Its an unfortunate reality,

u cant generalized if in some remote villages hv this tradition means whole India hs. i gave u examples i hv not seen such tradition being well connected to the village. BTW in which village these Bundela Pariwars live, interestng to know. and why to highlight only bad tradition???? as Veer told, why to bring Her, if mai wanted to perform these things. i know u will love whtever bad things will be done with Ichha, tht why u r saying they r showing reality. ur problem is tht u cant say anything in support of Ichha.😡 but here the quetion is not abt Ichha but the message which CVs r promoting.
