I clearly dont understand the directions of this serial. Initially they showed a young Icha whose only aim was to become 'Bada aadmi like Tappus dad'. Her mother always told her that she needs to study well to be able to become rich and bada.
By destiny she did get a chance to go to a very good school like Tappu. She was a hardworker and aimed high. Tapp was also shown as a very good student. The serial was passing on some good msgs and we were looking forward to something interesting.
Then the girls grew and the story completely moved off track. Tappu went into modelling which was alright. but again she wasnt serious at all abt her career ever since she met Sid. Her focal point was Sid all the time. She told lies abt her rehearsals and used to meet her boyfriend in private whereas her parents were ambitious for her career and trusted her completely.
Icha on the other hand was shown as doing social work and starting up Damini paathshala and her name did appear in some small articles in newspapers whereas Tappus name was on the headlines. But where was the bada aadmi that she dreamt of becoming. Did it vanish with the young Icha? I wudve expected Icha to be more independent and probably buy a nice house for herself and her Ammu rather than still share the haveli room.Moving out of the haveli wudve no way meant that she didnt care or show no respect to Thakur and his wife. Im sure Jogi thakur wudve been happier if Icha achieved much more.
Finally appears Veer from America and who is girl hunting. He hasnt been shown doing any work other than pursue Tappu or Icha. Then the girls fall for him and then marriage......Now looking at Veers family how on earth wud any girl be allowed to pursue a career living with that Daddaji and mai like ppl? I wudve appreciated Icha telling Veer that thanks for ur proposal but i need to get my dreams fulfilled for myself and my Ammu.
I think this serial is just showing females in poor light as being dependent on men always and marriage as the only ultimate goal of their life. It doesnt even convey any good msg for kids of today and sending wrong signals instead. There are so many girls who achieve a lot in todays world.
So sad to see such things being shown even in todays modern world and I wudve loved to see some achievements from Icha and Tappu.
Anyway these are just my observations which do not necessarily imply to others. Anyone is free to share or contradict with my views here.
