Fateh is sick. He is busy playing either the blame game or comparison game. Tejo is perfect and he isn't. Nothing he does is as good as what she does and he has lost his pedestal.

His sense of entitlement and patriarchal mindset is eating him up from inside which is why he ends up doing these stupid stuff.

I might be wrong but I have this feeling off late that Fateh sleeping with Tejo was kind of ego boost to him as he laid a girl who was always out of reach for a guy like him hence he was so angry and got divorce papers when she said that it was a nightmare for her.

I believe in one thing

If u want to follow do properly or otherwise dont make a mockery out of it

As u said unfortunately people takes it lightly

My mum took it seriously but she still lost her husband early

So i go on practical beliefs not theory

There are women who doesnt follow like my Sister's MIL never kept. and FIL lived till 95yrs.😁😁😁😁 In fact she passed away before him.

So it is difficult to say.

I can only say this every hindu has his or her opinion

Some based on theory others goes on the practical side

What is saddening is that some women are forced to keep it despite not able to. They could be ill or pregnant but MIL or oldies will say if u dont then u will lose ur husband.

I had two friends who went through this but luckily husbands were understanding. So the husbands interefered and shut the Ladies

I kept for 12 yrs then let go due to acidity issues

She used to stand 1cm distance from him and now 1 metre away. He couldnt take it. Simple as that😁😁😁
