“Salvage me….Won’t you?”
She clicked her tongue, letting a lone tear to roll of the side of her cheek, she blinked her eyes trying to get used to the darkness around her.
Sitting in her room with lights turned off she was trying to make out of the life she was living, the budding pain in her heart and the feeling of being suffocated, she tried to breathe deeply taking as much air as she can “Why Her… why is it always her?”
“They say nothing bad happens to someone who is good, so wasn’t she good enough? Where is that she is lacking that everything good that comes her way doesn’t lasts…” She thought while closing her eyes and rubbing her temples “May be nothing that is good lasts because I’m not good, I’m good to everyone but am I good to myself…” she opens her eyes and abruptly switch on the lights causing her to flinch and close it again as the room turns bright with white light, she blinks her eyes trying to get used to the brightness and with steady steps walk towards the full length mirror in her room.
She stands in front of it and eyes her reflection in the mirror, gingerly she picks her hand and let it linger over her reflection in the mirror, her eyes looked dead and buried in the pit of dark circles, there wasn’t any ounce of mirth on her face “What have I turned myself into…”she wonders.
She then lifts her fingers and put it again on her reflection in the mirror this time on her lips trying to stretch her lips as if trying to make her reflection smile, but nothing happens, she looks up to see the eyes of her reflection brimming up with tears and few tears rolling down she tried to wipe it but more tears follow she exasperatedly takes her hands off and sees it again this time shaking uncontrollably her reflection seems to be blurring and then she feels the epiphany she feels it was calling her, she wipes her tears to see it clearly and there she sees it standing and a voice calling her out “Salvage me…”
This time she keeps her palm on the mirror and sees her reflection mirroring it “She wasn’t alone…” and finally she looks up and smiles.

Virk House
It was the usual hustle bustle, the house was turning into a daily soap set, the family members angry with jasmine, fateh speaking up for her and again the same arguments follows. She shakes her head in negative and looks at the papers in her hand, she needs to do this, It seems like this family’s destination is linked to jasmine and she needs to get out here to find her own destiny.
She picks up the tea and moves to the Biji’s room where elders were seated and fuming, she knocks on the door and comes inside, everyone’s expressions mellows watching her walk in “There was no way in the world this child deserved what she was going through right now…” Khushbeer thought, passing her bahu the slight smile as he takes cup from her hand.
She smiles back and takes the seat next to him “Papa Ji I want to talk to you…”
He nods his head encouraging her to speak; she gulps and says “Forgive simran Di”
Khushbeer’s expression turns grim as he keeps the cup on the table and gets to stand up but before he could move she holds his hand “Listen to me first Papa Ji please…”
Everyone in the room including Gurpeet was holding their breaths. She kneels down in front of him and takes his both hands in hers “Papa Ji you know why parents have been such a high value it is because they know how to uphold it, when a child starts to walk and tumbles after taking few steps he eventually turns to see the face of his parent if the parent is still encouraging he will get up again and walk because of the encouragement, if the parent worries he feel always feel the sense of security as there is someone who constantly worries about him…” She pauses and looks up at him “you can’t deny the fact that you always worry about her that is why you never stopped asking your friends to search for her in Canada…”Khushbeer shifts in his place he never knew someone would ever know about it.
She grips his hands tightly “Papa Ji Simi Di did wrong three years back and she is bearing the brunt of it but don’t you think three years of being invisible to the family, living all alone with shame is enough of a punishment for her, don’t you think it would be grave un justice to little candy to deprive of the love and adornment of his elder his Masi and Mamu”
Khushbeer gulps his throat clogged with tears no matter how much he denied he always worried about his child, his daughter, his blood, his own heart went out to the little child when he saw his own grandsons living in such poor condition.
She wipes the unshed tears from his face and smiles “Let’s allow the little happiness in the house again Papa Ji you and this family deserve it ...Forgive her…” Khushbeer keeps his hand on her head and nods slightly finally giving in at pleads of his other daughter “Call her back… let her come back and then we will officially marry her off to Buzzo as per her Wish…”
This time everyone smiles with tears in their eyes and Gurpeet moves towards Tejo and hugs her “You fulfilled your promise Tejo you fulfilled it” she says hugging her tightly.

Fateh walks in the house and is surprised seeing Amrik and Mahi playing with little Candy, He walks further in and again gets shocked seeing her mother sitting on one couch with Simran Di’s head on her lap.
He zombie walks towards them and stands in front of them “Simi Di…” He voices out her name.
They both look up and see him standing over them; Simran picks her head up from her mother’s lap and sit straight as he kneels down in front of her.
“Simran Di you came back…” He says holding her hand before she could answer their mother spoke “Tejo brought her back…”
He turns his head towards her direction and he could see his mother’s eyes held emotion the one he has never witness in her eyes before “Pity…” his mother was pitying him. She takes in a deep breath and picks up the document from the side table and hands it to him.
He holds it eyeing his mother “What is this?” He asks opening the envelope and sharing the glance with his sister and mother.
“You know what Tejo asked me she said if she was my real daughter what decision I would have asked her to take being her mother as mothers always want best for their daughters and I realized this is what decision I would have asked her to take… “She replies holding her head high “These are divorce papers Fateh… Tejo have already signed them, you should sign them too so we will get them submitted in court and after 3 months you can marry who so ever you want…” She says with final tone.
Fateh eyes the Divorce papers in his hands signed by “Tejo Virk…” he looks at it with disbelief and then at his mother “Is this for real…” He asks still confused over this sudden change of situation.
“Yes fateh and also you can move back to your room…”she replies curtly but fateh still feels her taunting tone.
Before he could contemplate jasmine snatches the paper from his hands and starts blabbing and eyes it with fascination “Tejo signed the divorce paper…”
“Wait I can move back to my room, what, what about Tejo?” he asks trying to grasp the situation
“She left…” this time Simi Di replies “She left you, your life, your room and this house fateh…”
“Tejo left…” he asks, his resolve breaking his guilt kicking in again.
“Oh Thank you Baba ji, finally you put some sense in Tejo that she doesn’t belong in this house or in fateh’s life, thank God she left she didn’t deserve fateh…” Jasmine babbles holding divorce deed close to her chest
Simran Smirks at that sentence looking away whilst Gurpeet stands up causing fateh and simran to stand too she walks towards Jasmine and speaks in mocking tone “Yes Tejo really didn’t deserve Fateh or You in her life… She deserved Better” with that she walks away.
