Sub: Request to continue your Social Responsibility by saving the show Udaan from going off air.
I applaud the Colors TV for bringing out a show four years ago with a very bold and unique theme. Bandhuvagiri, which was not even heard off by many including me. The show was so unique, highlighting the tainted thought so ill forgotten practice which was still living as a parasite in our society.
The initial casts RajivKumar, Sai Deodhar, Spandan, Sail Ballal and others laid the foundation which made many heads turn towards TV including me. Till that time I was very much under the belief that TV shows just showed the stereo typed villians, Saas Bahu stories or fictions or about extra maritial affairs.
Udaan did soar high and was excellent and the foundation was ably supported by the excellent performers Vijayendra Kumeria (the character which I had written so much of analysis on), Meera Deosthala (as the protagonist) the powerhouse which made many girls to raise to soar high to fight evil, along with Paras Arora, Vidhi Panyda and currently Keith, Nazim and so on.
The show has been applauded not only for its successful running through the four years but has not deviated from its plot, the highlighting various social stigma in the society and still weaving a beautiful love story. Suraj and Chakor (SUKOR) has become our divine couple living in our households and our hearts. They are divine, soulmates who made us understand that love thrives not on physical intimacy but flourish and run through the various upheavals in life and still bind together.
The show has so much potential and analyse societal taboos such as child labour, slavery, maansik bandhuva, the atrocities rendered to women, child trafficking, organs selling in a very very dignified manner and this infact has been a role model show for the society too and infact quoted in many researches.
On the commercial aspect it has indeed garnered good TRP ratings but it is now been decided to off air this show. This has really disheartened not only as a Sukor fan but as an analyst and also as an ardent Udaan viewer.
We are not against any new show (I suppose the new show is fictional). But our request is not to terminate our lifeline Udaan, not to curtail our wings from flying high. The show has started with alarming issues and it is yet to also bring the bad guys to books and also SuKor has to get united after brutal separation along with their little daughter Saanvi who has now been marked as a bandhuva.
Its an ardent request that there may be many shows but Udaan is one such show and only one of its kind which deals in unique concepts of the society.
This is the earnest request to extend the telecast of Udaan and also if need be to move it to another time slot as we love our Udaan, our SuKor, our show that we would not mind to watch it even at the wee hours of the day.
Positivity wins, never loose hope and never accept defeat till you reach the finish line is the mantra we learnt from our Udaan so with humbled hands we request you to consider us.
