But I will add one thing to this. They are taking feedbacks and it matters to them but they are considering feedbacks along with TRP fluctuations. I think makers do know what's biggest difference between fans and regular audience and they know when and why will that difference become obivious.
When it comes to Naina I think she was pretty plain character and she was not meant to provoke such "intense" reactions that too from that first promo till now. Even am a fan but personally I never really gave her much importance.
Hope I won't sound rude and offensive now.. but I think majority of reactions towards Naina come from the same fans who are now considering Suraj to be equal to Ghuman. Even then they blamed Suraj (indirectly and directly) which ofc gave more importance to Naina. Due to defending or aweaken fears and thibking about possibilties it reached almost every fan. (Even I created buzz around Naina coz of similar reasons.)Bashing never stopped (especially indirectly bashing). Giving importance never stopped.
Also sometimes it's better to take a break from show... if people are sticking to it just out of habit or just coz they are type of fan "who watched every single episode - and will keep doing so" sometimes perceptions start to move in different directions... irrelevant things start to matter more.
Naina didn't bring TRPs but brought lot of buzz. That's one more reason why I believe she won't be back and that she was kept only to confuse regular audience and to create buzz in fandom(s). Even if she will be back, she won't have big importance and won't stay long.
