CHAPTER 25
So whole day was spent by Chakor in persuading him and trying to lessen his anger. But he was ignoring her like she doesn't exists.
He was furiated at her for being this careless (according to him) because she didn't wake him up and went out alone at 3 am. This is what he had to mention in front of others. Little did anyone knew how ridiculous he felt, when those deadly thoughts crossed his mind. And he didn't want to talk to her, because if he'll speak to her, he will either break down or he will say something very mean to her. So it was best to ignore her till he calms down emotionally.
However, Chakor was adamant to anyhow let his thoughts out. Because she wanted him to feel better as his face revealed he is storing alot in him.
In the evening, they packed up and boarded the bus to reach the next destination. It was a 12 hours journey and they had to take one stop at a dhabba for dinner.
Chakor kept his bag beside her, so that he comes and sits next to her. When he boarded the bus after taking attendance and assuring everything is fine, he saw that whole bus was filled up except a seat beside her, on which his bag was kept. With no option left, he went there. She welcomed him with his favourite smile but he ignored again. After sometime after he was comfortable and the bus started.
Chakor, "Suraj!"
Ignored...
Chakor, "Hello!? Mr. Rajvanshi!"
Ignored...
Chakor, " So my husband is still angry!?"
Ignored...
Chakor, "Acha! I am sorry! See I am holding my ears!", holding her ears.
Ignored...
Chakor, "See, I am wearing your favourite colour! Atleast compliment me!!!"
Ignored...
His behavior saddened her but she knew there's definitely a way by which she can persuade him. She held his right hand, hugging it with both her hands and rested her head on his shoulder saying, "Don't dare separate me, because if you do, I'll start crying like a baby whose lollipop is snatched."
Since it was a cold place, it became dark very early and none could notice what Chakor was going to do. Yes! She made a plan after seeing zero response from him. And she knew her plan is so full proof, that Suraj will definitely speak up!
She hesitated alot in execution but she was left with no option. She neared him, ending that very little gap between them. Her hairs swaying because of the cold breeze from outside. Suraj was facing the other side, so she used her hand, cupped his face and made him face her. She was nervous, but she continued. She took both his hands and looked into eyes. She could clearly make out confusion in his eyes.
He couldn't make out what she was upto. May be she is going to say something in his ears. But all this definitely irritated him, because she was making it difficult for him to ignore her.
She approached him. And their was less than a centimeter gap between their lips. Yes! She was going to kiss him. She gently closed her eyes and he suddenly, realized what she was going to do. It was good...rather magical to have her this near, but how could he spoil this rare moment of her life, with so much mess in his brain. And out of no where, he held her hand and pushed her gently back to her seat.
Chakor imagined and probably knew that he will stop her, so there was not any disappointment. But when he saw her going away, it literally hurt her.
"Was he this angry? He should have either said something to me!! May be just scold me for making this move, just to pursuade him. But he didn't!"
Another place, another turmoil. He was standing near the closed door of the bus, holding the support there. He turned back to see Chakor and saw that her head was bent. He made her sad.
Being sad because of her didn't bother him as much as making her sad did. It felt like the bomb inside was about to burst. He thought, he should at least warn her for not doing anything like that again. And went to sit back in his seat. He realized that Chakor is crying.
Her crying must not be hurting her as much as it did hurt him. Keeping all his ego, anger aside, he took out his handkerchief and gave it to her. When she saw that handkerchief approaching, she knew he is feeling bad.
This gave her a hope. She took the handkerchief and that gave her an idea! She took out a pen from her purse, turned to the other side, so that nothing is visible to him and started writing on it,
"Dear Patidev ji,
PLEASE SMILE ONCE AND I WON'T IRRITATE YOU AGAIN! Promised! Please just once!
Your Silly Love!"
Smiling at her own antiques and the achievement of finding the 'PAGAL LOVER' version of herself, made her feel proud of herself!
She folded it and handed it back to him. He took it only to find black marks on it. His handkerchief was spoiled.
'Is it that her tears turn black at night!?'
He checked it and read the message there. Chakor's whole focus was on his face because she wanted to catch even the slightest sight of him smiling. She had missed it so much today!!
He did smile but for just a nanosecond. After all anger is a THING!
Unsuccessful again! Her train of ideas halted and so was the bus. It was standing in front of a huge dhabba. Everyone started moving down. Even Suraj went. He didn't wait for her.
Now this was her time. Either now or never!!! She was sitting in the bus, all alone. Waiting for him to come and take her. After all it's almost 9 months of her officially being a RAJVANSHI.
Suraj moved out and took a place on a table. But Chakor didn't come. Neither to him. Nor to anyone else. He placed the order for himself thinking that may be Chakor eats with someone else. After almost five minutes, he still couldn't see her. Little did he knew, that his wife was waiting for him to come and take him.
He tried to be calm, but her absence always made him restless. The events of the day replayed in his brain...and he suddenly stood up to search her. He went near the buses and saw no one there. Then he went to the bus no.7 that is their bus to see for her. And there she was sitting , with her hands folded and looking at the door.
She was finally successful!
Suraj came running and at once, for the first time that day, "What kind of person you are Chakor!? Huh! Do you want someone to come here and create problems for you! Is it safe to sit here alone, with not even lights on!...What do you think you are!? This is life and not a joke! Everytime you need something, you stop thinking about others! Don't think about me! No problem! At least think about the people in Lucknow! Our parents! Your carelessness can make them regret for whole life that they sent you with me!! Everytime you have to be a super woman, and do hell with your own safety! Do you even know how much it kills the person who loves you...You..."
And out of nowhere, she stood up in a gist of second and placed her lips on his. He was taken aback, would be an understatement! The touch of her lips with his was momentary, but the sensation it gave rise to, seemed eternal. Her lips were red but her face was redder. And unknowingly his face too grew red! May be for the first time in life.
The touch was slight and she slowly retreated back, keeping his hands on her waist and hers on his shoulders. Nearing his ear, she said, "Pardon me! AFTER ALL I AM ACCEPTING TODAY THAT I LOVE YOU SURAJ!"
Melting every single bit of him, making him smile again, this time not for a nanosecond but may be for a life time...
She was hugging him tightly and waiting for him to respond back.
On being back to the world, he realized he has to reciprocate, so hugged her back.
"Promise me! You won't leave like that ever again!"
"Swearing on my life!",said Chakor!
"No! Swear on me!", Suraj.
"That's you only dumbo!", Chakor...
