AU fic, where Chakor tries to hit on Suraj! š
He had been a good guy that week. He had done absolutely nothing wrong, except maybe pull his sister's plait to tease her. So why, just WHY was Chakor looking at him like that?!
As was his everyday routine, he had woken up early, earlier than anyone else, and had gone for a jog. He was doing push ups when he noticed his best friend of... okay, his entire life till now, coming up to him. Suraj had just nodded at her and continued to exercise, and she had just stayed there, staring at him.
That was 5 minutes ago.
And she was still staring, even though he had moved from his spot on the mat to pick up his dumbbells. Suraj generally didn't get unnerved easily, but then again, this was Chakor, and God knew what beatings and bhashans she had in store for him, though he couldn't remember anything he did that wouldn't sit well with her.
Presently, he heard the sound of feet shuffling, the sound of foot steps, walking in his direction. Suraj exhaled slowly. 'Now or Never. You can handle it, like always,' he mentally prepared himself.
Chakor slowly walked in front of him, and smiled sweetly.
ABORT MISSION. I REPEAT, ABORT MISSION. SOS!
The alarms rang in his head when she smiled that way, and all he wanted to was run away, but she could easily chase him down. Waste of energy.
After much internal conflict, Suraj finally managed to blurt out, "What's wrong, Chakor?"
"Hmm?" She pretended as though nothing was wrong.
He sighed. "You've been staring at me this whole time," 'And it's scaring me out of my wits!' He added in his brain.
"Oh," She rubbed her eyes. "Well, something must be wrong with my eyes. I can't seem to take them off of you."
And she smirked and winked at him, before walking away.
Suraj stood gaping at her retreating figure. Holy shit. His best friend just used a pick up line on him. AND she had winked.
His end was near.

Suraj thought that that was a one time thing and dismissed it. Chakor loved to trouble him after all. So the next morning found Suraj on his early morning jog, and surprisingly, Chakor had jumped out of nowhere in between. He smiled at her and slowed down just a bit so that she could join him, but a few steps later, Chakor bent over, panting hard.
Concerned, Suraj retraced his footsteps and placed a hand on her back. He opened his mouth to ask her whether she was okay, but Chakor suddenly got up and shouted, "Damn it Suraj!"
Suraj was taken aback. He opened his mouth again to speak, and she continued, "I was here for an easy jog, but you're making my heart do speed work!"
His jaw took that as a cue to permanently drop down.

Suraj was puzzled right now. Chakor... wouldn't really try something like that TWICE, would she?
He was sitting in the driver's seat of his jeep, pondering over this, when the object of his confusion walked toward him.
She put her arm over the jeep, breaking his train of thought, and he looked at her, surprised. She ran her eyes over him, and raising her eyebrows, nodded in an appreciative manner.
"Yup, made in Heaven alright."
Suraj couldn't believe it. The girl was serious!

"Why am I shopping for groceries?! This is a women's thing!" Suraj said to no one in particular. He huffed as he put the huge wheat packet inside the jeep. That was the last of them. He turned around and almost collided with Chakor.
"Tu kaha se tapak gayi?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "Main tho kab se yahin par kadi hu, you just didn't notice." She replied. "What're you doing by the way?"
"Dahi jama rahe hai. Diktha nahi, I'm taking all these groceries to the haveli." He said sarcastically, following which he climbed his jeep.
"To the haveli?"
"Hmm," he started the ignition.
"You're forgetting something."
"Huh? What?"
"ME."
This time, Suraj had played right into her hands.

She was in his room. Usual.
She was lying on his bed (Ahem.) and peering down, searching for something. Unusual.
She got up and went toward his dressing table, and opened the drawers. She rummaged in them for a while, following which she closed them and went to his cupboard. She opened it and began shuffling through his clothes, while Suraj just stared at her from the entrance of the room.
Suraj stood there patiently, till he saw her hand advance toward the 'what-innocent-girls-must-not-see' drawer. Alright, time to step in. He stopped her hand from advancing any further, and that's when she exclaimed, "Found it!"
She didn't have anything in her hands. Puzzled he asked her, "What?"
With a hand on his chest, she slyly whispered, "My heart."

Suraj, at this point, was trying to figure out his own feelings. His mind was filled with Chakor and her antics, and Oh God, her pick up lines would be the death of him.
That evening, the four siblings had gone out for a movie to celebrate Imli's birthday. Suraj and Chakor were waiting were in line to buy popcorn and drinks, and all of a sudden, Suraj sneezed.
Chakor turned sharply, and he expected the usual 'Bless You' from her, but she closed her mouth, as if in deep thought, only to open it a couple seconds later.
"I'd say God bless you, but I guess he already did." And that SMIRK.
Suraj decided that day, that he had not been a good influence on His girl. He had cleared his feelings for her, but as of now, he just wanted to play along.

Chakor, meanwhile, was exasperated. She cursed all the times she let Suraj copy her answers in school, and all the times she agreed to do his homework after he pleaded numerous times. This was probably why the guy had ended up this dumb.
'Like seriously, GET A CLUE. I'm hitting on you!' She screamed in her head.
Unaware of her internal conflict, Suraj casually sat next to her. "Hey, what's up? Why the long face?"
She was ready with a rude reply, when his phone rang. Angry, she turned to the side and puffed her cheeks. Her eyes welled up and she was almost about to cry.
"Uh huh, hold on a second, I'll ask her." She heard Suraj speaking into his phone. He patted her shoulder and she turned.
"Cupid called, says He wants my heart back. Tell Him you're keeping it, forever." And now it was HIS turn to smirk.
Silence for a minute till she realised what had just transpired, and then, her eyes went wide. "SURAJ!"

"Alright, alright! Now stop hugging me, I can't breathe."
