Why is it such a big issue anyway? Forget chakor-vivaan for a moment. Just because she is pregnant why does he have to marry her? He needs to take the responsibility of the child but why force him to marry her?

I missed the consummation stuff -- Was it rape? If yes why does Imli want to marry the rapist? If it was consensual, then why should Suraj marry her - just because she got pregnant.

I am not defending Suraj's vileness or his torturing Chakor. But I cannot understand why he should marry Imli.
