the father and mother of both the hero and heroine have been stereotyped in most shows.The heroines parents play an important role prior to the girls marraige and after that they are completely sidelined or they dissappear. Among them the heros mother get better roles becoz tne mother in law -daughter in law story works while the heroes father Is always sidelined and has nothing to do except remain quiet and give a stunned look when something happens.
Udaan is different in that aspect . Kn continues to remain main villain and occupy prominent place he is yet to fully handover to his son. The mothers are fighting a war between themselves for the affection of the father which is very interesting to watch. So thankfully as of now no daughter in law track .The parents form a seperate track by themselves which is different. Even with sons the mothers are shown differently with Tejaswini and Suraj though SURAJ loves her she does not seem to influence him very much in anything and in ranjana s case she is fighting with tejaswini for her sons affection.so much for the parents of the two guys
The heroines parents have also been used well and seem differently potrayed as compared to the other shows.they have strong defined roles and the father/ sister of the heroine are shown as going against the thinking of the heroine which is also new
Udaan at the moment is a relief from the planning and plotting mother n laws, the suffering daughter in laws. the silent father in law and the subservient parents of the heroines .
