I get it we all love the series a lot but it's not that awesome. My only reason to read the books after NM was because of Jacob. Other then that nothing else intrets me. It isn't that thrilling. The books have gotten worse for me these days. Maybe i'm getting out of the twilight craze (Wasn't really in the craze to begin with but well...). But really i think when people suggested it people were over exaggerating. So if you haven't read it yet (Not likely almost everyone has) then all i can say it don't get your hopes up the book is a average nothing to get excited over.

I read a lot of books and Twilight saga is one that I really liked of course with the exception of New Moon which I absolutely loathed. I have seen True Blood and Queen of the damned but these are all told from the perspective of a vampire and although they use words that we are familiar with they still can't create the bridge of indulgent. A vampire is something that humans can't get a concept of, at least I didn't initially.

Twilight however is a vampire novel told from a human's perspective. These vampires are almost human, built more like a superhero than a dark and dreary tale of death and killings. We get more human emotions with just enough supernatural to keep us hooked, this is one reason I couldn't stop myself from going further with the saga. Edward Cullen is a major attraction because we all have the perfect guy in mind and Edward really is ideal for many girls. He's smart, sexy, understanding, and mysterious, since it's Bella who falls in love with him, we get the feeling he's falling in love with us, now wouldn't that be nice? lol. To be honest I love the saga not only because of Edward but because the book describes how overpoweringly and crazy in love two people are with each other and not just anybody gets to feel that kind of love. Like Kristen said " It's like a physiological bond or magnet..." once in a while, some people actually experience the kind of "crazy, passionate, almost impossible" kind of love that is described in "Twilight". Being able to actually read the exact same feelings on paper are electric, not to mention indescribable, so for that alone, it is not impossible for one to be hooked...

The truth is, twilight is no extraordinary book, even though a lot of people would like to argue it. I read lot of better books, but it has the kind of writing that you will either love it or hate it, and it has nothing more to do than the person's preference.

i agree, i think, the only reason i read the buk is for edward and the way their relationship has been described. but u do kinda get annoyed afterwards, wen u really use ur brain. all my friends who had read the buks before me told me to quit after just the first one, but ur addicted to it. and new moon was not the buk i liked, i skipped most of the buk. lol

but yea, sometimes u do find it a little absurd.

Long story cut short - Everyone has their preferences.
If Twilight is being over exaggerated, don't blame the book. It was written by Stephanie for the people to be aware of her dream she had, in which it became a book. If it gets a lot of fame, then consider it lucky I guess ._.

There are a lot of books that were best-sellers but I absolutely dislikes them. Disliked them to the point where I read the first chapter and never touched again.
Like Ambrosia said, it have to do with reader preferences. There may be books that you love that I might not and vice-versa. Everyone likes different things and have different opinions about things, it doesnt necessarily make one 'team' better than the other, its simply a matter of personal choices.

yeah ur right, i think the books got worse with each sequel.. i only liked twilight and eclipse, breaking dawn made me want to scream, so stupid! nothing even happended, just a waste of pages...
the books arent that amazing, its over-hyped-definitely, maybe more so because of the movies.
but they are enjoyable to read, just dont expect an amazing -OMG - story

i enjoyed reading it and that matters to me and i dont wanna compare it with others.
yes you can love it or dislike it or hate it but certainly you can not ignore it. i'd never seen anyone (ofcourse i m talking abt girl and not boy) skipped the books just after reading one or two chapters. it happened many times that i skipped some bestseller after few pages.
for me edward cullen is the major reason. i saw boys(or twihaters) mking fun of how he is 109 yrs virgin or whatever but basically this lovestory suits very much with indian culture (and for that reason also suits me lol) you know all that first love and true and eternal love in literal sense.
anyways, i liked it and enjoyed reading it second / third time also (except Eclips)

Ofcourse its the 12 year olds that think the books are out of this world, but the older audience would ofcourse beg to differ, we've definitely read better. I think what mostly draws the readers is the unique characterization, the story and also the fact that its in Bella's POV, which according to Rob makes it a "very personal story". Also, I think its the love story more than the supernatural aspect of the series that draws the readers. Though to a certain point there are grammatical errors here and there, but that could also be faulted to the american grammar, which is quite different.
All in all ofcourse its a personal choice but the books were good enough and definitely worth reading more than once
