Twilight star Taylor Lautner reported romancing actress Selena Gomez in teen tryst

VANCOUVER - Could Vancouver be the scene of a budding teen romance among the stars, or is it just a cool place for friends to hang out?

Twi-hards are pondering the imponderables as celebrity sightings of Twilight werewolf Taylor Lautner, 17, and Texas-born singer/actress Selena Gomez, 16, continue to mount.

During a break in shooting (he reprises his role as Jacob Black in New Moon; she shooting Ramona and Beezus) the teen thespians have been spotted strolling together and even smooching, celeb snoops tell the online version of Life & Style.

"Taylor walked Selena back to her hotel afterward," a "witness" told Life & Style. "When she didn't think anyone was around, she wrapped her arms around his neck and gave him a big kiss!" When the couple unlocked, Lautens snuck out the back door, witness concludes.

And what could be more romantic than Vancouver on the Victoria Day long weekend? April in Paris? Not for these two, apparently. Taylor picked up Selena at her hotel to go to the Ichiban-Ya restaurant on Thurlow for lunch. If the Life & Style reports are true, they would have enjoyed some fine Japanese cuisine.

The restaurant gets high marks from Frommer's guide: "The quality is high and the salmon, tuna, halibut, and other diverse sea creatures come nice and fresh."

While there, yet another snoop reports to the magazine, Taylor told Selena over sushi: "You smell good -- I always smell you. I smelled you on my pillow this morning."

Selana giggled in response, apparently. Well, how else to you answer such a sweet olfactory observation?

Meantime, the darling duo has to watch out for overlooking ancients. Selana has "a large bodyguard" reports Life & Style, while Taylor's dad is also in town keeping a keen eye on the love- (or is it like-) birds.

We can hardly blame Taylor for his attentions, after New Moon star Kristen Stewart rebuffed him (in their Twilight character roles as Jacob and Bella, at least.)
