Rob in Photoshoot | & Soundtrack Review

I arrived a little late to the listening party in Downtown Seattle, with the first track, Muse's Supermassive Black Hole already playing in the store.

Talking to one of the Hot Topic employees as I waited for Rob's song to come on, she told me they get dozens of fans each day searching for anything Twilight related.

Just then I noticed one fan holding a shirt with Edward's picture in the front, as she sang along to Linkin Park's 'Leave Out All The Rest'.

Five tracks later, Rob's 'Never Think' came on.

As the sounds of a guitar started setting the mood, one of the fans jumped up and down saying "that's it! that's it!"

A few seconds later Rob's familiar soulful voice came on.. to sing the quiet balad with some deep lyrics.

During an interview with Mexican Magazine 15a20 Rob said of the song:

They used it for one of the key moments, which is a little bizarre because it's a scene with me and Kristen, then there's a close up, and I hear myself singing and playing the guitar, and my face there.

And Rob's song got great reaction from the group at the listening party, fan Tenaya calling it "amazing and beyond words".

The placement of 'Never Think' in the soundtrack is also perfect, transitioning right into the romantic prom scene's song 'Flightless Bird, American Mouth' by Iron & Wine.

And then came the unveiling of 'Bella's Lullaby' by Carter Burwell. It's an instrumental piece.. with the sounds of a piano mixed in. I'll be honest, It wasn't quite the sweet melody I imagined Edward humming to Bella.

But the fans were happy with it, and when I asked fans Elizabeth and Stephanie on the scale of 1 to 10, how excited they were to see Rob play the song in the movie, they gave it a 10.

As for me, I much rather hear Rob singing.. "hold on, hold on, before nothing can be done" as I turn in for the night.

The Twilight soundtrack goes on sale November 4th.
