You are absolutely right - Varun is an actor par excellence.
Until about 2 years ago I never watched Indian soaps as I found them too tedious, the usual saas-bahu dramas. long drawn out story lines and wooden acting for the most part.
Then about 2 years ago i caught the start of PHS. Sugni (Gulki Jishi) caught my attention. I loved her spirit, the desire to change her life so gave it a chance not really expecting it to keep me interested for long but then ...walked in Thakur Vikram Singh (Varun) and I was hooked. i could not believe that such an amazing actor existed in Indian TV industry.
Even when the storyline went into the gutter and TVS was shown to do things beyond contempt Varun managed to portray TVS in a manner that had at least significant proportion of the audience on his side. And throughout Varun delivered amazing performances day after day
It was after PHS that I went back and watched Astitva and Koshish and realised what a phenomenal talent he is. I call him "the man with a million expressions" because he can convey his feelings with his expressions and his voice and can change them both in a blink of an eye.
The rest of actors on TP are also excellent which makes watching the whole show an enjoyable experience,
