Icing on the cake

Without giving too much away, Sai says the show is something never before seen on the Indian screen.

"When I heard the concept, I jumped out of my seat. It will probably be the first time something like this has been conceived for audiences." Besides the uniqueness of the show, the actress is also excited about the prospect of working with her hubby again.

"Working with Shakti on the show is the icing on the cake."

Rejected three biggies

Not many know that Sai was the first choice for three huge shows on Zee – she was approached to play the lead in Tumhari Disha, Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka and Mamta.

However Sai says it wasn't out of choice that she refused these shows. "I would have loved to be a part of these projects. They are all great shows and I know the producers really well.

Unfortunately, I was doing Saara Aakash when I was asked to be a part of these serials, and dates were a huge hurdle." She adds that it wasn't possible for her to do so many dailies.

"Some of these shows were scheduled to be weeklies when I considered them. But things turned out to be different." "Of the three, Disha and Sinndoor are doing well. I am very happy for them. Mamta also has great potential."

She's not preggers

Sai says she's busy relaxing and taking time off these days. "I am making the most of this time, because once work starts, I won't get it again.

Besides, I am also listening to lots of scripts and ideas. There are many cameos being offered, but I don't want to get into something just for the heck of it."

Reacting to reports that she's expecting a baby, Sai laughs, "This is complete rubbish! I am not expecting." Sai says it's typical of people to think she's pregnant as she's taking a break for the first time after getting married. "It's a figment of someone's imagination, nothing more."
