Week 10 ratings: Sab TV biggest gainer, &TV gets off to flying start

Week 10 (March 1 - 7, 2015) of the Hindi GEC universe had Sab TV witness the highest increase in ratings. Colors, Life OK and Sony Entertainment Television (SET) too saw an increase in ratings this week. On the other hand, Star Plus and Zee TV saw a decline in ratings. &TV, the newly launched Hindi GEC, in its first week, got off to the best start compared with other Hindi GECs such as Star One, Imagine, Colors, Zee Anmol, Zindagi, Sony Pal and Epic channel in their first week of their launch.

According to data sourced from TAM subscribers, Star Plus in week 10 saw its ratings fall to 604 million GVTs from 638 million GVTs in week 9.

Colors, on the other hand, saw a rise in ratings to 424 million GVTs this week from 419 million GVTs in the previous week.

Zee TV's ratings declined in week 10 to 427 million GVTs from 442 million GVTs in week 9.

Like OK saw a marginal increase in week 10 to 314 million GVTs from 312 million GVTs in week 9. This was just enough to keep it at fourth position on the table.

Sab TV saw a large increase in its ratings this week to 312 million GVTs from 265 million GVTs in week 9.

SET too saw an increase during the week and rose to 247 million GVTs in week 10 from 235 million GVTs in week 9.

Zee Anmol, on the other hand, saw a marginal decline in ratings to 96 million GVTs in week 10 from 98 million GVTs in week 9. &TV, which was launched on March 2, brought in top ratings of 90.6 million GVTs in its first week since the launch. Star Utsav declined this week to 90.1 million GVTs from 102 million GVTs in week 9.

Rishtey saw its ratings rise to 57 million GVTs in week 10 from 53 million GVTs in week 9. Big Magic on the other hand saw its ratings stay stable at 40 million GVTs since last week.

Sony Pal's ratings stayed the same at 38 million GVTs since last week. Zindagi saw its ratings increase to 22 million GVTs this week from 20 million GVTs in week 9.

Sahara One saw its ratings rise this week to 11 million GVTs from 9 million GVTs in week 9.

Epic channel saw its ratings rise to 8.2 million GVTs in week 10 from 7 million GVTs in week 9.

GEC Watch: &TV clocks best-ever opening at 91 TVM

This is the first time that a general entertainment channel has opened at as high as 90,612 GVTs

With only five and a half days in the opening week, &TV, the newly launched Hindi GEC from ZEE made a blockbuster debut in the ratings game, clocking the best-ever opening for a general entertainment channel (GEC) at 90,612 GVTs.

According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 10 of TAM 2015 (March 1 - March 7) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus maintained its leadership position. Zee TV retained its No.2 position followed by Colors at No. 3. Life OK continued to be at No. 4. SAB TV and Sony were at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. &TV came in at No. 7 in its opening week.

Star Plus recorded a gross viewership of 604 GTVM with a relative share of 23.90% (last week 638 GTVM).

Zee TV witnessed decline in its viewership this week but retained No. 2 position. The channel recorded 427 GTVM with a relative share of 16.90% (last week 442 GTVM).

Colors' gross viewership grew to 424 GTVM with a relative share of 16.78% (last week 418 GTVM).

Life OK recorded a gross viewership of 314 GTVM and a relative share of 12.43% (last week 312 TVM).

SAB TV witnessed a huge jump in its viewership this week and recorded 312 GTVM with 12.35% relative share (last week 265 GTVM).

Sony recorded a gross viewership of 247 GTVM with relative share of 9.77% (last week 235 GTVM).

&TV opened at No. 7 with 90.6 GTVM.

Big Magic recorded 40 GTVM with a relative share of 1.58% (last week 40 GTVM).

Sony Pal recorded a gross viewership of 38 GTVM with a relative share of 1.50% (last week 38 GTVM).

Zindagi was at 22 GTVM and a relative share of 0.87% (last week 20 GTVM).

Epic recorded a gross viewership of 8.2 GTVM against last week's 7 GTVM.

Hey, that's a great news...though other than TNNZ I don't watch anything on it but I make sure that only &t.v channel runs in my house other than one hour of news.
