Yes I'm a Brahmin too.. Ye ritual Upanayanam they do it for boys at young age especially when their age is in odd numbers.

I have attended weddings of my friends who are not Brahmins and learnt from them that they wear the Janevu (sacred thread) during these special occasions or occasions when they are offering last rites.. Only for those times..But Malhar has been potrayed brahmin...Ek Uniform iron scene tha waha he was wearing sacred thread...Kalma ki pehli shadi ki waqt.

arre usne jaanbooch ke pehle din kallu ko ganesh pooja mein invite ki, the she tried her best make them accept ki they know each other.

then jaanbooch uthni raat ko wishes and photo bejhi to trouble kallu

Haan, tumhare points Mai samaj gayi..

Only Brahmins wear it all the time.. So I also thought KalMa are Brahmins only.

I have no idea about the surnames ka differences.

we dont eat but yes even i know few brahmins who eat non veg.

ek bhar meri cousin ko uski friends ne usse kuch aur sabji bol kar non veg kila diya tha, she came home crying and after she got shaant we asked in detail and said it tasted like coconut 🤣

Only Brahmins conduct the ceremonies like how Sarthak and Malhar did.

So I also think they are..

Mujhe surnames ka sab patha nahin.

For us Tamil / Palakkad Brahmins, our father's name is surname. Or it will maximum have Iyer. We don't follow any specific surnames throughout the lineage.
