Hey there all the lovely people!!
Me is back - apologies for being late. Do not miss the episode, skip and watch KanUm scenes. They are worth it.
Direct to discussion.
It's kinda tried and tested method that whenever one is angry they should close their eyes and take a deep breath, and shut everything negative out of their system, to calm down - today Kanak asks Uma to close his eyes, he does so with frown on his forehead, lines that mar his calm tranquil face.. she says that she loves him and love him a lot, that he has to fight to stay strong for her, for their love story is yet to complete, they have to get married, they have their whole lives ahead of them. She kisses him on the forehead, it's a platonic kiss, yet the zeal, the passion, the electricity it transfers was of support, of being with him, to share his life in happiness and woes. She is the gentle rain on an hardened drought land, she is the evening that welcomes the scorching sun into her arms. It's her voice, it's the words, the gentle kiss that erase the lines on his head, the wrinkles disappear. She is the anti-aging cream to his age line. She brings him back from edge of insane anger, she gives him the safe haven.
The second part of the episode is of reality and pretense, of hypocrisy - Massi all those years of being saree clad sanskari sati savitri comes out from the water as a bikini babe - although the bikini can be a bit uncalled for but it's only the extreme that can shake the great Uma Shankar... Kanak and Uma watch Massi walk out of the water, their mouths open not in awe but the spectacle in front of them, of lies and pretense... Massi gives an interview regarding women empowerment, each word that comes out of her mouth about women being equal to men, they work side by side, a woman can do anything - each of it falls on Uma like a ice bucket challenge, his mind freezes, the reality bitch slaps him in the face... he is reminded of Massi's teaching over the years that woman is like an animal... he cringes at the memory of that lesson, but he stands witness to all the hypocritical layers of lies, ignorance and deceit Massi had caked on the surface of his mind.
Bangkok has been the place of modern avatars - it was Massi's day today, she is a bikini babe, she supports women power, she drinks beer and can have Aditya's child terminated as it's a bug on her window... - - i dare mention logic here, Aditya has been there barely tens days or so, how come the girl got pregnant???? - on other side of the tree (KanUm) there is no romance and here Aditya is having a kid on every street of the country, as her mother boasts that Aditya roams around with fifty sixty women in a day đ˛
Formal education, degrees, certificates or qualifications do not form up a person, mindset or perspective... it's half and half school and home both work to mold an individual personality, it's the society, the environment that influences a person - today Uma despite being an Ayurveda, feels ignorant. His qualifications doesn't fill up the huge black holes of his social life, he feels incompetent and regressive and regrets every second of his past life where he belittled Kanak, considering her inferior, asking her to follow him, he regrets stopping his sisters from acquiring education. He feels that he and his siblings were intentionally left in the dark ages while the world around them progressed leaps and bounds - it's another development in Uma's character where he realizes the gravity of his blindness, that everything was there in front of him, but he was enclosed/shrouded in a cloth, where he could see things pass by but couldn't dare reaching out at it to feel it. He is the prisoner of his own blindness, a serious issue where it's not just him, but everyone that was subdued by him. He feels used by Massi for her own personal motives. He feels - he feels and he expresses his concerns, his regret, his life with Kanak.
Kanak not being able to see him gloomy, in an attempt to divert his attention breaks her sandal and asks him to do something for his wifey... there are flashbacks of a time when Uma had asked Kanak to keep her feet on him and they walked together - it was at that time they both despite being together were on different level altogether, Kanak couldn't look him in the eye or anywhere, Uma carried her as if it was duty, it was beautiful scene back then and it was a beautiful scene today - significant of their present and future relationship, they both would move forward together, Uma would carry her not because she is duty but she is his Love, and she would happily be there in his arms, and together step by step they would take on the world. They both look into each other's eyes, their eyes twinkling, mirthful at such gesture, they both laugh, smile and are happy to be there, involved in it - adding to the beauty was the BG, that they both would be the lamp and wick to each other.
