Kanak blinked fast, the lights had gone out and she was home alone. Kanak hated the dark, everything looked scarier and when you were alone in it, you felt like you were being watched

The door clinking made Kanak's heart race, her hand held her chest as she stepped forward grabbing a bat Shiv had played with earlier

Lifting it, she slammed it on the person's head. He groaned loudly and fell against the wall, now no longer shrouded in the darkness, the moon lit up his facial features, it was her husband.

"Im sorry, im sorry I didnt know" bringing him to the sofa, she grabbed ice from the freezer, wrapped it up and held it against his head. From the small light on his face, it was easy to see the pain in his eyes, but something made her sure it wasnt because of the injury.

"Why do you hate me" Kanak looked down at Uma, sitting beside her

"I dont, I just dont want this relationship"
Uma hissed before turning away
"Please dont leave I dont like the dark"
With a grunt he sat back down

He rolled his eyes and stood up, tired of the look in her eyes whenever her gaze fell upon him

"Uma please" his eyes darkened and he turned back to face her

Her face flushed and her throat felt dry

She looked down at his hand on her waist, she felt dizzy at his proximity

"Give you a" she let out a gasp as she felt his lips skim her jugular vein

Her eyes shut tightly, her breathing laboured "Tell me if he made you feel like this" his hand went to her back, she pushed her chest forward, dipping her back as she let out another gasp as he sucked on her neck

"Uma please" "again" he rasped "Say my name again" suddenly he was lying on top of her, his body pinning hers to the sofa
"Uma" she breathed
His hand went to her stomach, tracing up
Without notice, she lifted her hands and rested them on him, one on the back of his neck, the other in his hair

"We have to" she whispered
But his lips moved up to hers and all sane thought left her mind
She trembled in his hold, kissing him back slightly she felt his tounge push into her mouth
It was after all this time some salvation to her pain

Then he pulled back, the weight of his body lifting from hers
The warmth his body offered now leaving her cold and desolate

Pulling her legs up beneath her she allowed the tears to fall, the guilt of what she had done washing over her
