Hey there all the lovely people!!
Me is back and super late.. my apologies.
Direct to discussion.
The fight for the mangalsutra is still in going. Uma threatens to use force but Kanak is as always a step ahead of him, she places it in her mouth and challenges him to take it... Uma steps forward his hand ahead his fingers hesitant, he wants to get it but the temptation is high, to touch her would be to lose his mind, his fingers curl and he jerks his hand back and leaves, with a typical this girl would be the end of me attitude.
Fast forward to Haldi ceremony, while all the ladies had to wear yellow, Uma was paraded around shirtless... why is so much ang pradarshan even allowed - I have no issues to bake my eyes on his six packs abs but there should be a limit for him to be around bare chested every now and then, especially in front of Palomi - the still parayi stree. He sits for the ritual while Kanak stand scrunching her hand and a smile plastered to her face... more tightly she curled her hands that the nails dug in her palms the more widespread her smile was - that's how she is feeling at the moment, her world is falling apart right in front of her and she is supposed to play cool. Kanak is sent to the store room as per Massi plan to kill Kanak with gunpowder - she wants a guy Fawkes Accident right in the house to finish off Kanak.
Uma awaits for Kanak to bring the Haldi and Palomi has to say something - she is right there confessing her bhakti turned love for him, and her fear of Kanak ruining her dream of marriage... Uma shuts her down that all this is happening due to Massi's promise. - that woman was confessing of adharm of loving a married man, yet he couldn't use his brain, he has sympathy for the poor lady that she is scared, to hell with her and her fears - the fear would haunt her for the rest of her life, for when people try to steal things not meant for them, the fear of losing is inevitable. It's that feeling that things would slip from ones hands, because not all hands are the same to fit the glove. She can ask for a mangalsutra by gaining sympathy but not a place in his heart, she cannot replace Kanak in his life for that place can never be vacant. Palomi has chosen to have hand me down for herself, second hand husband and second hand mangalsutra. The way Uma walks away to get the mangalsutra is like the ladies have gone crazy and I can't do this game anymore, I will get it and throw it in her face.
Uma walks in and Kanak teases him with a song, he replies that he is no one to him... she asks him that he is concerned about Palomi and Massi but not about her, for she loves him and a piece of paper can't change their love for each other. She holds his arms trying to shake some sense into him - but he is a creature of habit, he has to repeat stuff like a robot - I told you so Kanak, but she had to put a price on their relationship, Kanak answers that every relationship has a price, which she has paid for but their relationship cannot be broken... it's understandable that Uma is hurt, he is still not able to accept the fact that he is divorced from Kanak, Kanak is dancing right in front of him, teasing him, flirting with him, challenging him yet he ignores the obvious and runs behind promises that don't matter... for promises are from the heart and commitment from the mind, when his mind and heart, his soul is entrapped with Kanak how could he even fulfill a single promise. Is he in a way punishing Kanak? For he doesn't ask the reason but is shutting her down, her attempts to reach out to him coldly.
All the while Kanak and Uma were in the store room the cord to the gunpowder is lightened... it's burns as slow as KanUm track in the show - once the spark is lit it should be crackling away, but it's as slow as cvs brains and KanUm romance.
