Kanak leant down, shaking his shoulder "Uma, Uma get up"
Waking up he stretched "Wait, what are we doing here"
Kanak shrugged "No idea, but we have to go to the depot now "
Uma jumped up as they hailed a rickshaw and arrived
Kanak looked down at the photos on the desk of a very intimate kind of Uma and Kanak
Ranjit pointed his finger on one of the photos "explain this, and with a criminal"
His eyes darkened as he glared at Kanak
"Sir, I dont know what happened, I believe someone may have drugged our drinks that we left alone for some time, which i know wasnt a good idea, hes also not a criminal, he was falsely accused and we were friends from before"
Ranjit sighed, squeezing the bridge of his nose, he stood up leaning against the table
"You are one of my best officers, thats why I am willing to let you off with a warning but you must be more careful and wary, and not mess around with him so publicly "
"I understand Sir, it wont happen again"
Uma cleared his throat "May I say something"
Ranjit nodded
"I feel someone has been following us, whenever I go to meet Kanak, i always see a car following mine"
Ranjit nodded "I need a description written down now"
"Sir, I think someone is trying to ruin my career and using Uma to do it, we became friends then we recieved intel from an unknown source that Uma was partaking in child marriages, therefore breaking my trust, we then got drugged and now this"
Ranjit nodded "Let me speak to you alone"
Uma went to wait outside
"Officer Rathi, feelings wont do you good in this job, they will fool all sane thoughts.
Have you ever considered he could be involved and tricking you, the timing is funny and why him"
Kanak nodded "I am considering it Sir, i will keep an eye out"
Ranjit nodded "Good, you may leave"
Saluting she left the office
She was unsure wether Uma deserved her trust, she knew it was best to be wary and to not let this man catch her heart
Realisation dawned upon her that other than basic things she really didnt know a lot about him
Her trust wavered again as she made a promise to herself to sort this out
With the way things were looking Uma Shankar could not be trusted
