But.. the fact he is honest and straight forward

Kanak lied and used the whole family

Everyone here supported Uma arrest and want him to be punished for forced marriage

We all want to see Uma's redemption track

One best thing about Uma he is not pretending as well can't be manipulated by others

Where as so called broad minded man are not actually broad minded and they pretend

Agreed about the manipulation part! You maybe right, but I think personally for me, the stubbornness overweighs the maturity, that's why I dislike Uma so much!

From your profile picture, I can guess that you are a krpk fan. So, after watching a progressive show such as krpk(which had its own set of ups and downs), where there is a strong female lead, and then watching tsmsp, it's kind of sad tbh. While some may say, these two are very different contrasting shows, it is important to note that I am making this comparison merely on the basis that many rural households watch this show. The last thing we want is to encourage blind practices like "wife should be a maid", "should not go out alone", etc, etc.

Having said that, I think the screenplay of this show is very good though. There is a certain flow in the storyline which is appreciated. Of course, the latest development in Kanak's character is a little hard to understand, but the brothers supporting her in her ordeals is loving to watch.

my head is so messed up that i myself dont know if i hate him or love him..

Appreciate you for sharing your point of view:)

In contrary, I thought the exact opposite regarding his smile. The smile that signifies his victory for him. The smile which portrays his inner confidence that he is right. It irks me to such an extent that I simply forward it whenever I see him smile. It maybe because I have met such people in real life, due to which it especially troubles me.
However, I agree with the different shades part. Maintaining such an intrigue even after 100 episodes is hard. Appreciate team tsmsp for having done that:)

I would keep banging my head or one day bang his head. I could handle some of his irritating habits but not his with backward thinking and his overprotective nature. Look at him today he just pops up anytime .Yeah being someone's shadow is nice but he's s satellite. Bet kanak thought today he dropped me off to the taxi and he would back to his hotel and I'll talk to him tmrw. She's going home to be with family and drop the bomb to them that she retracted her statement. Knowing her family would be angry, she don't need Uma popping up making it harder. He just never gives her space. Urrrggghhh! So annoying. Like leave me alone for a while man I need rest and think things properly. He's the type that he'll say why you meeting your friends I'm here for you my darling 24/7.

(One thing I don't understand in today's episode why kanak said to Uma stay here after they had a very dramatic day.its not like they're happily married. He could've gone back to his place)

But having said the above and after after spending 20 days with him i would know that he's no danger to me anymore he's just weird in his own way and is born in the wrong era. And keep talking to him and explains as when kanak talks and explains he does listen...

one thing I like about Umas character is is that he is not a backstabber. He is honest as then you know where you stand with him. And his calm way calm way of dealing with things. he would never cheat on you possible tyaaag ( )

Also about looks no offence taken. I know I'm fidha over him I suppose like they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 😆 😆 😆

I KNOW RIGHT! The word "space" doesn't exist in his dictionary! I think that's the foremost attitude I hate about him. I hope as the show progresses, these things change.

I hate that he married her forcefully, I'm completely against that and seeing Kanak not do anything about it now that she's with her family and they're all supporting her disgusts me, I even stopped watching the show cause of it. I'm religious as well but there's no way that I, an educated person in this day and age would tolerate Uma and definitely not his extreme "devotion" (if it really counts as that) as an excuse for his actions. It's the same for his looks, I don't know what people see in him but what they find good looking is their choice, clearly mine is not even close to theirs.

Kanak just makes me angry now, I just can't reason with what she does anymore.
This show just isn't for me, I don't even watch Indian shows cause they're not for me in any way, but saw the promo at somewhere and thought of giving it a try, can't believe I was stupid enough to waste my time after it.

Completely agreed about the first two paragraphs! Coming to Indian shows, there are some lovely shows out there, which are progressive in nature. I can suggest some for you if you want:)

Im guessing thats what he is supposed to be like but because of his lack of emotions and his domineering nature and the way he speaks I dont see any chemistry between the duo or feel any sympathy towards him. I wish i could change that, i mean i want to love these characters and want to enjoy the show but i dont feel the craze i once felt while watching dabh. Infact Kanak annoys me a lot these days especially her continuous emotional drama and indecisiveness.

Like you have mentioned above, I eagerly wait for the scenes that involve the rathi siblings, shiv/kanak scenes, even masisa. But nothing about kanum excites me.🥱

Agreed! Especially for a twilight fan, it must be hard to like a couple like Kanum😆. Jk, even I like twilight. Now back to tsmsp, I really loved Kanak in the initial days, she was smart. She was different. but now, it feels like they are turning her into the so called quintessential bahu of Indian television:( Hope they alter that. Uma's character literally suffocates me, I can never survive with a guy like Uma.

Haha Yeah Fatima. Glad to know that:)
I came to the conclusion that people favour Uma on the basis of the poll that I had posted regarding team Uma or Kanak.

He forces Kanak to get married and even used physical force to bring her back when she tried to escape. Where is star plus' promise to spread good social messages now? Now that Kanak has admitted all of her mistakes, why is Uma not doing the same? He hasn't apologised to her or her family. He hasn't even admitted that he forced her to get married. And then he had the audacity to say that he respects women lol. This show should be set in the future according to the timeline of Diya aur baati but Uma and his family are living in the dark ages. Now we have to watch Kanak bend to Uma's will and do whatever he wants. The only rational characters are Ved and Vansh.

Agreed! Especially about Ved and Vansh. Love the trio bond:) However, I think its important to note that men like Uma exist, the same way women like Sandhya exist. I think that the makers of this show want to portray another perspective of the society through Kanum, which is appreciated! But I just feel they should tone it down a little. Showing that Uma wins every time is stagnant.

Uma should drink Suraj's feet washed water first. But Suraj is in heaven romancing with Sandhya. Miss them and their characters.❤️

Haha. True, Sooraj was a dream husband. (That's what I got from watching bits and pieces of DABH)

Used to be a crazy vampire girl but now im back to reality😆
I agree with you, I adored kanak initially, she used to be so determined, so adamant about everything! I remember how she found out ways to get close to bhabo despite her anger, always sneakily hugging her in her sleep , her playfulness etc now all seem in the past. She is nothing like her mother, she is too much of a gopi bahu now for me to like and approve her actions.
I wish she had a goal in life, a job or further education something, but now it seems to me that her current goal in life is to be the perfect wife to a man whose regressive thought process and domineering nature is such a put off.
