There is nothing like extremist religious person when someone is following Hinduism. There is nothing in Hinduism that teaches you should put down your wife, sister in law, community or kill anyone in the name of religion or convert anything that moves in the name of religion.Whatever they are showing in this show is nothing about Hinduism or dharma .There are number of stories in Hinduism showing what happened to men putting down women.Which religion has a woman as their god and even men do pooja to them Shakthi,Durga,Saraswathi,Lakshmi I can go on.They will not stand a chance to defend themselves if they have to convince anyone in the court of law about this pathetic story if they get sued. But as we all know Hindus are passive, nonaggressive, non confrontational people but looks like all these qualities are taken as incapabilities and trying to push them against a wall.If they are trying to show Uma is backward because he follows Hinduism and will be liberated once he gets his gyaan from his lost wife it is pathetic and laughable .The writers need to get their act together and stop making shows defaming religions in particular Hinduism all the time.

The way in which Uma interpreted his faith is wrong. Uma is wrong to force Kanak to marry him. And he must realize that, because he still doesn't realize that.

On the other hand, Kanak is a victim of a forced marriage until she run away from Kareela. But the moment she returns to Uma with the intention of getting back to the store, I find Kanak wrong.

If Uma interpreted his faith wrong then why are they portraying him as highly dharmic and intelligent person who is very well respected in the community and follows him with respect and faith. They should have shown him as an ignorant person who has no understanding of any dharma.

i think writers are showing uma as a man who is a full in beliver if dharma and its rules..which is great in the eyes of people.who follow religion full heartedly..for them, uma is their idol..may be he is an idol for such kind of man..and may be the signs he got are indeed sign from.god..and may be he is right in thinking kanak and uma are.meant to be soulmates in the eyes of god..but the way he approaced the fact was wrong..yes..he did want massissa to ask her hand for.permission..but he should have never married her until.he got her full hearted permission..and after askinh her family and her and still it was a no..then he should have waited or tried for her approval ratger than lifting her and do pheras..he never even tried..may be that moment..i would say he was the.most non dharmic man i have ever seen..and the people.of ladnoo are too.much a believer if uma that if he does it..then it must.be for.the best...

That's my point exactly writers are trying to show he is fully immersed in dharma and then they show him doing adharma .Hope you got my point. They are showing a complete dharmic Hindu will do adharma.

i think.we can.accept that not all.people.are.perfect...and neither is uma...he did a gunah marrying kanak that way rven though he is a firm.beliver of dharma..if we think about it..humans do.make.mistakes..and thats what the writers are showing..uma is not a perfect character..and neither is kanak..kanak did wrong in lying and trying to get the docs..she should.rather have taken the path of law...they both have their own flaws and goodness..though i think what uma did is a bigger crime compared to kanak..
but all said..this is a soap...and all are written to make a story out of it..😳..i am enjoying every bit of it..😉

But sweets...
Reality is that some ppl who follow dharm have been misusing it too...
Here they show that he thinks he is doing right cause he thinks it's dharm...
But we know it's wrong...the growth/ change off US will be the moment he thinks about it and question it...if it's right or wrong...

I think Uma is a model in Ladno and not only, (even media came when he was arrested) because he is a renowned doctor. People in Ladno respect him because of his notoriety and scholarship. So they have accepted him with all he pleads, thinking what he says is best, they became his disciples.
In this way it has been created a vicious circle, crowd of followers nurtured his ego. Even his family (only women ) has been told him constantly that he is like God for them.
Very interesting to find about his religious upbringing roots or how comes his beliefs haven't changed even after many years of schooling.
We know he is an exception, a character, not a representative of hinduism or of any other religion. But every religion has his extremists, like Uma is.

I agree with all you said but most especially this.

Not only all religious people but even atheists can be extremists.

Every community has exceptions/outliers.

I mean just look at fans of celebrities in general, you get a lot of decent people but you also get extremists who can't hear one criticism and will abuse you for a celebrity they don't even know.

If there's a community of passionate people, then there's room for extremists.

It's not religion that twists mankind, it's mankind that has twisted religion with their extremist interpretations.
