Negativity ans oppression are 2 different things. He was not negative so far to kanak. He had ensured that she retained her self respect despite she was giving tests and also helped her indirectly to win her tests. He wanted her to get adjusted to his type of living though it is different for us, the same was acceptable to hia family ans people.

True, Uma on hearing her reasons will fall for her more. But i really don't want this arrest scene which will sow more bitterness in their relationship
