Hey there all the lovely people.
Me is back here with a Sunday post, which is related to Saturday episode... not an episode review but still a post nonetheless.
I remember reading a story once, a beautiful princess had everything in the world, riches jewels, fine clothes, food... but she wasn't still content. At that time I thought the princess to be greedy and selfish that she had so much yet she wasn't happy. With time I realized though material is essential but it's not enough to live, not just to breath and eat but to actually live. To feed the soul with love, adventure and freedom. Adventure need not be the hike to K2, but the little treats of soul searching, things that makes a person happy. Be it watching the moon with coffee, reading at hearts content, walk down the beach waves lapping at your feet or just sitting at the shore watching the sea -- anything that makes you happy. It's not the grandiose that is required but the little things that actually make a difference. None but ourselves can free our minds, from anything and everything that binds us, let's not be prisoners of our own thoughts.
US puts up his defense that he did everything with consent of Payals parents and only parents know the best for their children -- there are exceptions to this too, have watched a lot of crime patrol. He says that what status would Payal have had at her parents, they wouldn't have been able to carry the burden in old age -- this is the sad mentality of the society, it's not about being MCP even the women are patrons of this thought process, that a girl has to marry, girl is a burden on parents and family. What they do not realize that girls have equal potential of carrying her own weight and that of the family, given the opportunity. US makes his case that he gave Payal a secure home, a status in his family and society, relationship that would last a lifetime.
US says that one perceive the world as they are, anything that one doesn't understand is not wrong -- this applies to everyone, even US that just because Kanak is different, has different though process doesn't mean she is outright wrong. Even Kanak is suppressing her need to learn, to adapt, she is drawing lines in her mind that she is not to be affected by anything in this house especially US. She is stopping herself from learning new things, understanding different perspective.
Kanak gets Payal out of her room, they bond together.. Kanak doesn't lie or pretend in front of Payal, she is helping Payal out of her depression and suffocation, by finding joy in little things, like splashing water. -- a thing that got me was Kanak was reminded of her brothers, and they were discussing marriage, and she finds Payal sitting there alone. It could have been nothing, but remembering marriage joke at that moment clicked me in another direction.
I am by no means justifying or defending payals situation in that house. Payal is the bird in the golden cage, she has everything material and social, just not her husband... but one can find happiness in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light, that light is in the simple little things. -- girls bonding, laughing heartily, enjoying rain, air and earth. I by no means ask her to be a doormat, but be an integral part of that house and family, which can't be ever ignored. I encourage Payal to make the best of her time, by enjoying life in every situation that gets thrown at her. It's easier said than done, but wouldn't that be a bit better than just sulking and being suppressed all the time.
Another woman in discussion would of course be Palomi, the only free woman but caged and chained by her own free will. She can walk out no questions asked, but it's her choice to remain a slave. And now not only a trust worthy servant but raising her hopes up to be equal to US, and by that I mean she dreams of herself by his side. The way she checked her bindi in the reflection, made me cringe that she is going to use her looks and charms to entice a man. A man who never gave a second glance to her, and today she hopes to entice him, seduce him with her all understanding meek dharmic attitude. What dharm is she following?? Everyone is going on their own tracks, moulding and adjusting dharm and karam as per individual preference. Palomi might be right in her eyes, but it's wrong from every angle I see, maybe it's different perspective, but eyeing another man, a married man is absolutely wrong. At first it was just infatuation, one sided heartbreak but now it's a pledge to get to a place, which she dreamed about. She has turned to a one way track, which has no redemption towards anything positive. She is a prisoner of her own self. And her imprisonment is going wreck havoc on relationships, all this is only about herself. This is not about US or the family, but her selfish desires.
