TSMSPJ*ep.65*16.6.17: My Impression* Audacious ,frame up!
A frame up is a plot where by an innocent party is blamed for a crime. Some incriminating evidence is put together in such a manner that is hard to deny. This episode follows on from yesterday's lipstick marks on Uma's kurta. The evidence of an incriminating crime is present and Massi also in a way passes her judgement rather severely on Uma's indiscipline. Have to add that Uma was hardly given the chance to defend himself ,or even to clarify what all sniggered about? That was yesterday. But today, Kanak's bold frame up of Uma Shankar is underway. Her frame of mind , currently is nothing except to see him being savaged verbally by Massi .. one by one to see his sham rule keeping coming to tatters!
It's is expected that Kanak too will be framed in this situation that she contrives to blame Uma into something that he is not really guilty off. But the beauty of her set up! Is that he seems to have no leg to stand before his family. Those in exemplary leading positions like he is, one has to bear the brunt of any breach of rules. Kanak childish as she seems is aware of that. As far as she goes ,she has a fixed agenda in this lipstick scenario. Thus when Massi brings her into the loop of the context. Kanak feigns like a demure Sita that she only followed what Maasi told her to do! make her Lord and master happy, so she did her duty by not refusing his advances! Maasi picks up the bait and once again rages at Uma's neglect at respecting and keeping the very rules he laid out himself. While Uma with a cold fixed expression glares at Kanak.. Kanak suggests the same meal as punishment for Uma that he slapped on Payal, bland food.
Despite the fact she is young ,chirpy and giddy. Uma by now, is aware that Kanak is lying..but for what purpose ? her frame of mind.. how she is expressing herself in this given moment in time puzzles him. But which rules she breaks as she pins these blames on him he knows, he decides in privacy he will have a word with impudent Kanak about her conduct. Have to say , he abides by keeping certain issues and conversations private between husband and wife. Kanak feels partly vanquished ! he has to eat the same food he damned Kanak into having!
Sometimes kanaks' frame of mind, her mood or emotional state dares her into foolhardy tactics! At the table where she scoffs at Uma eating humble pie! whilst her and others supped tasty fare! Her face kept bursting into a veiled smile . Later she has to eat her words.. her smile is forced, to conceal the sadness .That while she ate tasty food her Lord next to her has to gulp down boiled ,bland food! Well Maasi too is ready to exploit her every word... like Kanak did earlier, by hissing that she only obliged Uma as per say her instructions. Maasi admires her devotion to her husband and slaps the punishment on Kanak too! by all means stand by your husband in both thick and thin! She can share Uma's blandness via partaking some of his food! Uma gives her put off face, a look of sarcasm... golden rule don't give away your body language!
Kanak's frame of mind continues to taunt and jeer Uma. Now as Gita , she mocks, pity! she breaks the rule! but he gets to eat boiled food! Uma's mood is erratic, too! He retorts he is used to eating boiled bland food! His retort, its nothing new! It's healthy! Kanak realizes there is no winning this strange man! But what makes Uma lose the plot! is when he rebukes her that her behaviour is out of order! He tells her in strong words his frame of mind! His views on the bond of husband and wife. That what goes on between a man and his wife is nothing short of purity and sacredness the sacred privacy, before public ,but she lied and mocked the holy bond before others! He reminds her that his footsteps are guided by his faith that's how he leads his life! with an expression ,of discipline, self control, restraint. He married her with full rituals and he. So the scriptures teach! He growls at Kanak that not only did she expose him, but she disrespects their bond that his religion ordained! He honours his faith devoutly while she blatantly derides and mocks!
Kanak scoffs at him and accuses him of treating his faith as bogus. He practices not what he preaches! She bamboozles him for getting Payal married to a photograph. Eloquently she fights Payal's case.. Kanak touches upon the universal wish that most young girls dream of.. to have a husband who loves them.. she explains the true essence of a marriage to a wife is not clothes, nuptial binds, but having her husband beside her! Kanak challenges Uma what keeping to faith does to him. He is blinded by his faith! It stops him from seeing that Payal yearns for her husband to return! She accuses Uma for keeping to his faith, rather than tell Payal the truth about her husband! Uma's frame of mind is highly disturbed this girl. She really provokes him! She erupts like a volcano , for justice to transpire in Payal's life! To me it appears that Kanak's argument does make Uma ponder a bit..
In an ecstatic state of mind the two brothers Ved and Vansh wait for Kanak's response! Lovely scene the bonding of the brothers. The third import link that holds them together , Kanak is sadly missing. Quite a comic scene their scramble for the phone when it rings! Nope its not her! wrong number!
Uma's frame of mind.. hurt, and aggressive .He clearly feels this girl has tarnished his blemish free image. Kanak has spoken a lot today. Her jeering he can cope with. But the bit where she becomes the self appointed saviour for Payal's cause , makes him anxious. Kanak as far as he can see , is a rebel she heralds mutiny. His pride as a husband is bruised badly. Imagine getting blamed for that which he is not guilty off! Worse still she questions his devotion, his faith too, refuses to accept , duties, regulations faith! Well he'll have to buckle her now ! here in the privacy of their room! He will punish her in his own way. In the same manner she led others to believe her, that she obliged him!! Uma forces himself upon her in a semi intimate way. The intention is to use force, appear threateningly ,encroach her space ,and cause her distress! She reminds him he promised he wouldn't touch her till she consents! Well her pleas seem to fall to deaf ears. But he stops.. he tells her its his faith that restrains him from laying a finger on her, despite being in the same room, as him! Yes I know he is her husband but.. the scene had a negative impact on me.. both actors , acted convincingly.
News of their banter reaches the rest of the family. Palomi stops Maasi from investigating.. but then curiosity or rather winning Uma's trust makes her lurk near their room.. this may be a chance to frame something ,her lost position in Uma's life.. hamlet53 17.6.17 dear all...have a good week end !
