TSMSPJ*ep.64*15.6.17: My Impression* Nit picking..
Tell you what nit pickers make me go insane. But they exist, giving minor criticism. At a point it is taken with a pinch of salt. But overly critical can drive people around the bend. One can see in the episode that Maasi's nagging Kanak makes her turn into a hypercritical nitpicker. But one also observes that Kanak's life is not devoid of dull moments.. take the night before scene , Kanak in the same bed as the good man epitome of virtue Uma... but look closely and nit pick at what goes on..
His lip line and her earlobe... sweet suggestive flirtations of the lamp and the wick..then peace at last, sigh.. From night to morning, from slumber to waking up Uma stares Kanak in the face. His wake up call! makes her call for Ved! Panic how much does he know? Uma calms her down ,he knows nothing about her brothers..relax. She's the one who mumbled in her sleep! Uma tells her, neither is he interested in finding out. Uma fumbles for her trust. Yet this he gauges, by her knee jerk reaction! that Kanak's weak spot is her brothers? Family.. graciously he adds, however, if she wants to divulge about their identities , he doesn't mind!he studies her, she can be moulded to be! how he deems fit. Seems, him checking up on Ved and Vansh is her biggest fear now. Kanak ,despite her big mouth! reckons, she will never allow such a treacherous man around her brothers!not till she teaches this smart man a good lesson for penalising Payal for a life time! Kanak is like the elephant! she never forgets! her target!
While Uma meditates before sunrise! Kanak too allots herself time for a personal spiritual booster! yes! she got up before sunrise!. Still according to her agenda! she has to achieve one more target.. she stares at the reflective Uma.. to sabotage this man's meditation.
Still she falls short in keeping to rules, by washing her hair on Thursday.. nit picks Maasi .. she points out none of the women present have broken this rule. Shiv gets away by being a male!as the rule is non-applicable to him! Even he knows the background of the rule! shambles! Try as she may, Kanak fouls again! So back to mountain pose she goes for her mistake! She atones for her error! Shiv keeps her company in the mountain pose.. small chat, she asks the secret of his insight despite being so young? Shiv beams replies, he gets it from Uma and Maasi's early morning sermon.. which means more higher order worship before breakfast is served.
Nit picking or given a golden rule easy to hear but hard to implement. Massi sermonises today they will focus on restraint! how to control one's senses. She criticizes, many rules in the house are being ignored! DILS are neglecting work, washing their hair on a Thursday!and sometimes the pride of the household Uma ends up having an out of season cold! Maasi in a way, does instruct wisely. Although her instruction is angled more towards the women. Without discipline life is wild like an unbridled filly! Life is secure if lead by rules and regulations! Maasi glorifies the man of the household, they are blessed to have amdist themselves the epitome of rules and regulations! with tremendous honesty and hardwork Uma sets an example of a selfless life!he never dares to overstep a single rule.By restraining his senses he conquers life itself! Then why did he marry? One wonders.
Uma arrives.. checks up if rules have been followed? Maasi though complains of Kanak's mistake of washing her hair on Thursday! The big question is was Kanak told? Clearly not.. please recall, when Palomi suggested Kanak be told the rules.. Maasi replied no she'll learn as and well! Seems to be a policy that show people up and alongside reiterate and repeat the house rules!
However Maasi praises Uma's wife's, disciple, dedication in atoning for her mistake. Uma , senses, great encouragement, and comments, that the first sign of change is penance! But under her veil Kanak smirks! For when Uma turns around his ivory coloured kurta at the back he has two sets of rouge lip imprints! Such giggles and titillations! Kanak chuckles, well there goes Uma's much talked about restraint.. Shiv child's curiosity gets teased too! but is shooed down by nit picker Maasi! who is in shock as she fined Uma being made an object of ridicule. Her bastion of restraint is exposed! Kanak enjoys from under the veil! Uma is told off for breaking the rule of disregarding the auspicious hour bid , for reducing the gap between him and his wife! Maasi gripes, he has shook the foundations of this house by breaking the very rules he has created! Maasi takes him aside and accuses him of losing self control! What kind of message is he giving every one? He is the role model of discipline in all of Ladnun. He was reminded yesterday only that its inauspicious time for the moment! and still he lost control! Maasi is livid at Uma. Kanak is over the moon! Her conspiracy of getting Uma in trouble is successful at last! So Uma gets into trouble in default...just like he punishes Payal by his brother walking out of child marriage. This guile to Kanak seems fair and square if she wishes to sort this so called appointed god of his household!
At Rathi house a bored Bhabo too nitpicks and gets on Vansh case when he suggests go take a walk to the junk shop to recycle old newspapers! She takes offence and links with not being so hard done! Besides with grandsons about why should she do the errand? Little does she realize that both Ved and Vansh are drinking cups of tea, waiting fo Kanak's phone! Young Pavan offers to do the task , and Bhabo likes the idea of accompanying Pavan to the junk shop. She moans about Ved and Vansh! wants to bring them to their senses, by getting them married off! Vansh says he ready any time! Once babho leaves. The brothers are excited as Kanak would have received their message! and she is likely to call right away!
The episode challenges , rather crudely , Uma and his families, household dharms, that touches upon duties, rights, conduct, virtues, the right path to sound living. Is Kanak slowly without realizing being, drawn into Uma's personality despite how offensive he appears to her! However little does Kanak realizes that it takes two to tango! She too will be summoned by Maasi as an obvious suspect of wearing lipstick! Uma is not amused. Kanak mocks him, he doesn't rule, but blasphemes and insults faith! She defies him, she rejects! his rule! In the privacy of his room, he forcibly backs her into the cupboard, ready to plant a kiss on her lips! that landed him in disgrace! She reminds him of his promise not to touch her yet, but he says, what's the harm if such promises are broken? whose to know? Hamlet53 15.6.17
