Hey there all the lovely people.
Me is back from weekend blues.
Rules are meant to be broken is the revolutionary motto of today, who gives a damn come let's just break some rules because it all comes down to individual choice, whether to respect certain rules or walk over them. There are sayings that life shouldn't be about how aptly one falls in line, but taking one thing at a time... it's a complex issue to tackle with. If everyone did what they wanted, what they felt right, wouldn't it all be chaos. Sooner or later even the revolutionary rebels fall victim to their rules that they don't accept rules, that is their rule.
Who made what rule, does it really matter, the fixed code is punched in and one gets the desired result. US and family are having quite a showdown regarding rules and regulations... every family has it, no big issue... every house is run in a different way, what's orange for one, is lemon to other. There is no definite right or wrong.
This is a prevalent error in our societal code, the new bride has come home, and hello day 1 -- she is to know all the minor and major rules and regulations by lunch time. Every time Kanak is seen ignorant of a certain rule, Massi looks at US as if it's his fault.. US should have taught her from the dust in the basement to the water tank on the roof. Who does that, with time patience and errors one learns. Learns how to fall in line or to break it without being caught.
Moving on to other aspects of the episode.. for Kanak US might be raavan, usurper, fraud and tharki- who can find romance in any way-- but unfortunately her husband too, although she doesn't accept it but her mind knows it unconsciously that he should be the one to take a stand for her, the moment she blurts out her confession of eating onion pakora because she was hungry, she expects a person like her father who would take a stand for her, that moment US Comes in between Massi and Kanak saying let it be, they should eat lunch and be done with this. Massi is adamant about punishment, US is amused by Kanak's rant, he is taking it very easy that she broke a law and now is babbling her truth, in such an entertaining way. Massi forces US to announce a punishment, he says first time offender Kanak will do Parbat asan... Kanak does it reluctantly with lots of help from saras suman and US, she begs forgiveness from Massi and by US' approval she lets Kanak off.
When everyone thinks the drama of onion demon is over a different criminal is brought to light, the original onion demon which Massi had smelt wasn't Kanak, but Payal... Massi brings Payal in front of everyone, saying that first she broke the house rule, and secondly when Kanak was being punished then also she didn't confess, Payal should have been that mahan stree who shouldn't have stood quiet, but have taken her share of punishment. Payal is the one who should stay in a hole and never do anything that pleases her, because if she did anything as per her wish, her husband won't return ever. --- is this even worse for a caveman era, just because a woman did something, she wouldn't get her husband back. Can anyone even imagine her plight, she is just stuck in the Stone Age era, where she has no existence of her own, she is to stay in all limits and under rules because that her tapasya would get her husband back. US is asked to give Payal the sentence to... US announces 24 seclusion from family and boiled food only, that would get her tongue in control.
Kanak and Payal committed the same crime, but Kanak was let off a bit easy, with amusement and entertainment. Although Massi was strict, but it was light hearted kind of portrayal of punishment. Whereas when Payal's crime comes out of the shadow she is punished outright inhumanly, with high handed strictness.. why is Payal made to suffer more than she already is. Does she need a husband at every turn of life to protect her from such bullies. A woman without her husband is nobody. Kanak tries to intervene but US stops her, she even questions his judgment, but he doesn't listen. Kanak is getting embroiled in matters of people of this house, and she isn't letting this go easily.
Precap- shiv says when US does meditation it's unbreakable.. Kanak says there was no one before to tempt him.
Massi says to Kanak that her husband might have accepted her but the family hasn't, when Kanak questions her stance on being unfair as a woman.
