Hey there all the lovely people.
Me is back from weekend blues.

Rules are meant to be broken is the revolutionary motto of today, who gives a damn come let's just break some rules because it all comes down to individual choice, whether to respect certain rules or walk over them. There are sayings that life shouldn't be about how aptly one falls in line, but taking one thing at a time... it's a complex issue to tackle with. If everyone did what they wanted, what they felt right, wouldn't it all be chaos. Sooner or later even the revolutionary rebels fall victim to their rules that they don't accept rules, that is their rule.
Who made what rule, does it really matter, the fixed code is punched in and one gets the desired result. US and family are having quite a showdown regarding rules and regulations... every family has it, no big issue... every house is run in a different way, what's orange for one, is lemon to other. There is no definite right or wrong.
This is a prevalent error in our societal code, the new bride has come home, and hello day 1 -- she is to know all the minor and major rules and regulations by lunch time. Every time Kanak is seen ignorant of a certain rule, Massi looks at US as if it's his fault.. US should have taught her from the dust in the basement to the water tank on the roof. Who does that, with time patience and errors one learns. Learns how to fall in line or to break it without being caught.
Moving on to other aspects of the episode.. for Kanak US might be raavan, usurper, fraud and tharki- who can find romance in any way-- but unfortunately her husband too, although she doesn't accept it but her mind knows it unconsciously that he should be the one to take a stand for her, the moment she blurts out her confession of eating onion pakora because she was hungry, she expects a person like her father who would take a stand for her, that moment US Comes in between Massi and Kanak saying let it be, they should eat lunch and be done with this. Massi is adamant about punishment, US is amused by Kanak's rant, he is taking it very easy that she broke a law and now is babbling her truth, in such an entertaining way. Massi forces US to announce a punishment, he says first time offender Kanak will do Parbat asan... Kanak does it reluctantly with lots of help from saras suman and US, she begs forgiveness from Massi and by US' approval she lets Kanak off.
When everyone thinks the drama of onion demon is over a different criminal is brought to light, the original onion demon which Massi had smelt wasn't Kanak, but Payal... Massi brings Payal in front of everyone, saying that first she broke the house rule, and secondly when Kanak was being punished then also she didn't confess, Payal should have been that mahan stree who shouldn't have stood quiet, but have taken her share of punishment. Payal is the one who should stay in a hole and never do anything that pleases her, because if she did anything as per her wish, her husband won't return ever. --- is this even worse for a caveman era, just because a woman did something, she wouldn't get her husband back. Can anyone even imagine her plight, she is just stuck in the Stone Age era, where she has no existence of her own, she is to stay in all limits and under rules because that her tapasya would get her husband back. US is asked to give Payal the sentence to... US announces 24 seclusion from family and boiled food only, that would get her tongue in control.

Kanak and Payal committed the same crime, but Kanak was let off a bit easy, with amusement and entertainment. Although Massi was strict, but it was light hearted kind of portrayal of punishment. Whereas when Payal's crime comes out of the shadow she is punished outright inhumanly, with high handed strictness.. why is Payal made to suffer more than she already is. Does she need a husband at every turn of life to protect her from such bullies. A woman without her husband is nobody. Kanak tries to intervene but US stops her, she even questions his judgment, but he doesn't listen. Kanak is getting embroiled in matters of people of this house, and she isn't letting this go easily.

Precap- shiv says when US does meditation it's unbreakable.. Kanak says there was no one before to tempt him.
Massi says to Kanak that her husband might have accepted her but the family hasn't, when Kanak questions her stance on being unfair as a woman.

Thx blue...
Not in the mood for epi...

I do think payal punishment was harsh but at the same time...if payal had confessed her "crime " at he same time as kanak ..both would have shared the same punishment ...

Someone who has been eating onions and garlic all their lives...and isn't familiar with the custom off the new place, should be given time to adept...here Massi is expecting kanak to have knowledge beforehand...

Massi telling kanak that US has accepted her but not them...some nerves...kanak pack your bags...walk out...or use this line in the future...to slap it in US face...

- Meh episode - maybe the OLV ruined it despite the Payalwala twist.

- Let the Kitchen politics begin: (a) Your husband accepts but, we do not.😳 (b) the one with the hubby gets off lightly, but the one without the hubby is ostracized.

- Let's borrow from Zee's Piyaa Albela ki Vishwamitra and Menaka track 😆

- US takes Kanak too lightly today... she will have to get serious if she wants make her point with him. Talking to Maasi is pointless waste of time cuz the only one she really ever needs to convince is Uma. He is the true disciplinarian of the house despite aaj ka household drama.

- Kanak will obviously be Payal's eventual chamption, but not sure how substantively she will get into Payal's cause at this time. Will she learn about the photoframe marriage? I would not want to be Uma Shankar Toshniwal the day his darling Prasad learns this truth. Because there are two actual sins of Uma: Payal ki shaadi and Kanak ki Shaadi, but the first is greater imho. He will have to start a papad factory for Payal's marraige and Bhabho ki shop fraud.

PS - Payal & Kanak should point finger towards Maasi, US & Co - their son is bhagoda. He abandoned his family and his child wife. Kanak only ran from SR and that too temporarily after jabardasti ki shaadi.😆

My understanding:-
Kanak was not aware of onion not allowed. And when maasisa was about to punish her she confessed.

Payal was having full kNowledge that's why maasisa sa asked her to explain it just to check if she is aware or not. Once she explained Uma was so proud /happy that she has understood this family. But when maasi sa revealed payal ... Uma found many reasons to punish her... First she did it knowingly... She sent kanak first to buy time... Her age logic was not correct as Pahli went after saras... She is definitely not younger than payal and kanak... Looks almost same age as Uma...When kanak was getting punished she started explaining she didn't feel any guilt...

Accurate summation of the reasoning for differential treatment 👏👏 Their expectations of Payal, however, is absurd (she is too have no wishes or dreams and sacrifice because otherwise hubby won't return) and the punishment overly harsh.

@bareta -
My actual issue is not with the punishment, she knew the rules before hand but still she broke, okay I understand that merits punishment. But the logic -- you need to have more 'saiyam' control or you won't ever get your husband back... what kind of taunt is this. You want her to follow the rule, fine but the hit below the belt, that your desires would make your husband stay away. She should abstain from every Worldly desire and do tapasya, to get her non existent husband back.

Hey there Shali.
Episode was entertaining but it needs pace. It's still lunch time in US alien land 😳
It's as Massi said, she knew it was Payal who had eaten onion and Kanak got caught in the cross fire between Payal and Massi. Yes Payal should have confessed, but still it happens, US punished her harshly, but the way it was delivered was harsh, and the taunts you won't get your husband back, did she even have one to begin with.

Kanak didn't know eating onion was same like having alcohol---but as I said new bride is supposed to know 'everything on the first day... her being ignorant is criminal offense
She is teaching her nothing but expects everything from Kanak.

Massi atleast is out in the open now, Kanak knows that Massi is not to be looked up on. All power lies with US and she only has to convince him fight him and make him understand. As she said nobody was there earlier to destroy his peaceful meditation.

@Anjana - hey there

-- I dislike the spoilers too.

-- point on , having a husband is a dire necessity to survive. If he ain't present wife can be walked down upon by anyone. And the deeds of the wife affects the return of the husband.

-- lol i had the same thought. Ab Kanak would become menaka and entice US out of his comfort/meditation. She is ready to hunt 😉

--US looked amused by Kanak's antics. Yes she does need to get serious, but she will remain unpredictable... well she did try to play the woman card with Massi, which was important, she took the straight route for the first time, talking to elder in house. But Massi herself will show Kanak the route that she ain't welcome, Kanak is left with US only and she would make the most of it.

-- two sins and one US. Bht naa insaafi hai. He would pay dearly for it. Kanak questioned his sentence there and then, and he could only glare. He is the thekedar of dharm, but he can't always use it to justify any on his actions. Kanak would make sure of it. Kanak would stand up for Payal, but would it be enough when Payal herself is suppressed to such an extent. It can't be an overnight change.
