Many times in life people make shifts from one situation or attitude to another in the opposite direction. Often such turnabouts in policy may be seen as being fair, just or equitable in a situation. The alternative or successive turn at doing something in return may be judged as right response in a given situation. In the episode both Kanak and Uma's family are seen to undergo some changes in outlook and behaviour. To me some turnabouts are deemed as positive, in terms of positive outcome. While others complete turnabouts, may be competitive knee jerk reactions to some personal desires..
Kanak's return to Uma Shankar has caused ructions within the household. Most of all within Palomi. Understandable she had expectations, rather foolish ones of being Uma's life partner. She was immersed in his devotion and aspired for more then was meant for her. With Kanak back , her anger manifests in household tasks. She lets off steam! Seems her lord never looked upon her, the manner in which she sees him. She recalls he referred to her as his confident! That is enough to turn her attitude around. For long she has gone unnoticed.. Served Uma without the reward of his slightest attention. Now the time has come to be assertive in her manner to be get noticed by Uma Shankar. For Palomi its fair play that she will aim to win back her bond of trust between her and Uma from Kanak. Seems's Palomi's selfish devotion to Uma Shankar has blinded her from discriminating between what's morally and spiritually acceptable and unacceptable no. All in all an unworthy change of attitude , one that is unfair play.
In the Rathi household in hind sight, after Kanak's tempestuous announcement and stormy departure, the turnabout in Bhabo's attitude is noteworthy.. she is prompted to evaluate the situation. Some forgiveness and pardon? some understanding for Kanak is perhaps underway in her? her somewhat positive turnabout is when she begins to ponder upon ,and justify her position. That had Kanak told her no for Mayank, she too would have declined the wedding. Its fair play, Bhabo does not accept that she is responsible for pushing Kanak into a marriage that she herself has embarked upon. This softening in her behaviour is brought about the unpleasantness between Ved and Vansh..As the head of her family, Bhabo, strangely enough now looks for opportunities to unite the family , rather than see her family ripped apart. However Bhabo even from her side of the wall ,gets the impression, that this already divided family has reacted fairly poorly to the Kanak visitation.Strange reactions, like Golu refusing cake , babbsa rejecting his regular intake of medication. Rani and Pavan both stand as two innocent tools, that by their neutral outlooks and sincere innocence, act as a medium ,that helps Ved and Vansh to clear the air between themselves. They see the turnabout in the angst between them and Kanak's rakhi's from past memories succeeds in seeing the brothers. that is fair play.. that for their sister's love they will continue to ,together rally support for Kanak in her paternal home!
Where there may be possible pardon for Kanak sprouting in Bhabo's heart. The family Rathi bond..the eternal love of Suraj and Sandhya, also stirs Kanak's soul towards her family. She too in hindsight, predicts that her beloved two older brothers may be falling out, all because of her.. she regrets that as grief she perhaps divides them now!. where as god knows! she always strived to be the connecting link between them.. in prayer she seeks her family's pardon in doing what she did.. marrying someone unknown to them.
What a turnabout of fair play.. the scenario where Uma Shankar holds court, and announces the guilty verdict to a convicted man! One who commits the sin of selling meat from the household that belonged to Uma Shankar! Forgiveness is withheld and seen as yet another chance for the criminal to be set free ,to repeat the sacrilegious act he was guilty off! From the wings Kanak stealthily meets the man Uma Shankar who forgives not easily if his trust is betrayed!! Uma commands that the poor pleading man.. be kicked out of Uma's house with his family! One forced thumb print on the deeds of the house by the crying man with Uma's stern command to gabbsa .. get hold of the vacant possession of his house! Easily gets Uma claim his property back! Kanak , not entirely surprised grasps the scenario as undertaken by Uma with her Bhabo too! Uma ,a miser in dishing of mercy and compassion to those who dare to betray his test.. but her mission is to cheat a fraud!! and as such the turnabout ,she is engaged about. is fair and just in her fight for righteousness.
Caught eavesdropping by Maasi !its a moment to fight guile with guile, Maasi as always gives Kanak the chance to hoodwink her ,by her coiled syrup riddled sweet talk. Maasi gives Kanak a jeer, is she checking out Uma? Kanak obliges her, why of course! she left her paternal house, rushed to be back with him! Maasi purrs, what a world of difference between the runaway bride, and the bride who has returned! Maasi never misses her chance of enjoying cheap thrills! She teases Kanak, wink wink! its her nuptial night tonight! She can check Uma to her hearts delight! Maasi cackles like a witch and leaves with a smirk!
Kanak's earlier calm undergoes a turnabout of emotions.. its not fair play! Kanak goes to her room! Its laid out as a bridal suite!! Her heated, much troubled imagination shows her Uma .. come into their room, unbuttoning his collar! and then backing her to the top of the foot of the bed! Kanak runs for her life! She races and behind her come racing Saras and Shiv ! they tell Kanak, if she remains tranquil and happy they will give up their sentinel jobs!
The whole pre nuptial scene, including the precap, is a creation by the cv's to create hype about the forthcoming consummation of married night!
Interesting episde we get to see ,Kanak and Uma .. Kanak gets to see Uma doing a dark deal.. she gets to see the context of the butchers crime ,but she has yet , to see the context of why Uma got Bhabo's thumbprint. Why he wanted Kanak sweet shop? Hamlet53 2.6.17
