I've seen some comments here and there about Kanak acting stupidly.
I think the thing to keep in mind here is that Kanak is supposedly a 20 or so year old girl. And in sipte of the emotional neglect that she's suffered through, she's had a fairly sheltered upbringing thanks to her brothers. They did say for themselves that she's the kind of girl who even felt scared stepping outside alone.
If you think from that mindset, it makes senses that she can't make sense of anything. (Does this sentence make sense 😲 ) The girl is all heart. She wants her grandmother's love who is naturally the most important figure in her life because she is the matriarch of the house, the one person everyone respects, looks up to and follows to a large degree. She's the one who has the say in the house so in any case its obvious she's the one Kanak would want approval from. For her to not have it is a huge lacking on her part.
From what I understand Kanak has spent the majority of her life in a boarding school away from home. It is normal to want that love. She is naive in assuming that giving the shop back to her will be a way to win Bhabho's love. Its not how emotions like love work but again she is far to young and naive to understand that.
What she is doing, no matter how illogical it seems to us, makes sense when you match it to her character. She knows US is a powerful man. He did forcefully marry her and she did witness his men beating up her brother. Of course she's going to fear for her family. They didn't care if he was a policeman so it makes sense that she doesn't want to involve her family.
Moreover in terms of going back to US at all. No matter how naive and in over her head she is, she's also a brave little thing. She understands what her brother's and family don't. The shop is everything for their grandmother. Without it she won't survive anyhow because to the woman its a symbol of her dead children (Which btw doesn't make sense to me and its where Bhabho is at fault. I mean she's giving more value to bricks and walls rather than her own grandchild who is a living, walking legacy of her children.) She feels her brother's won't help her because they want to sell the shop as well. So to her she feels like she's the only one who knows whats going on and the only one who wants to stop it from happening.
[ Also as a question, have they mentioned how old Kanak is. I keep thinking 20 which doesn't make sense to me because they also keep referring to Suraj and Sandhaya dying 20 years ago. wasn't she a bit older than a year old when her parents died? So confused there. 😕 ]
The pace I have to agree with. It is abnormally slow. How to the poor actors shoot in the same darn costume for an entire week. That is torture for them and for us. I understanding wanting to build up the characters but the writers have accomplished that so it is time to pick up the damn pace. Like for heaven's sake I'm gonna grow grey hair by the time the entire mystery of the papers is solved and over with at this pace.
The story is interesting and well thought of in my opinion and I love the actors, especially Rhea. I feel like she's doing a fab job as Kanak and I want to see more of her and US, moving forward. How their relationship builds up and how US redeems himself, which I'm counting on the writters to show otherwise this who production will ultimately turn out to be bogus.
That's all.
Bye Bye.
Comments and Opnions are always welcome. 😊
