Jannat is a great person and performer, but it is to be noted that her parents' support and presence was a blessing. Plus I am actually glad the media got a hold of this news, it helped us better understand what these actors are going through
Not many actresses in the Indian Entertainment Industry have this kind of support, and end up being mistreated due to power dynamics by producers/directors.
With the MeToo campaign we are hearing more about this from the likes of Radhika Apte and all... More support systems and better transparency needs to applied to the industry so people are safer and feel secure in their profession.
I believe that many scenes in TV and movies in India are in place not because of the script but to objectify women (and men too, but disproportionately women more and).
Indian Entertainment Industry needs its own campaign that will better connect with viewers and takes into account all voices.
