Just what is the role of gods in K-serials? These guys love to take the name of gods in vain. Gods make their appearance atleast once a week but the torture for the characters or for the viewers never end. To apiece the public they show a 'miracle' or two now and then to shut the mouths of the indignant faithfuls while leaving the wounds of broken hearts still festering. Lets see a few instances:

  • During the karva chauth night we have Milsi miraculously escape a horrendous accident (thanks to Prachi's penance and fasting) only to come home and abuse his wife for playing tricks with him.
  • After Milsi's accident Prachi begs her God to return her Milsi to her. Lo below Milsi miraculously escapes from the jaws of death. The only catch is he has also lost his memory and does not recognise her.
  • Milsi prays at the Haji Ali Darga and asks that his memory be returned to him. He starts getting flashes in the negative (that is the miracle) but they have not yet turned positive. what's more of late they have disappeared too!
  • During the Teej Puja we have the mangalsutra accidentally fly from Milsi's hand and land perfectly around Prachi's neck. Well this is nothing short of a miracle considering that he stood at the top of the stairs (atleast 20 feet high from Prachi who was still standing down in the hall). But the guys still has PA and has not yet recognised his wife.
  • Prachi prays that Milsi should not hate her. Low below, the guy decides to make her his friend. All the hate has miraculously disappeared after a night in the snow. The catch is they are still apart.
  • Milsi and Prachi pray at the Kali mandir. The miracle? Milsi's engagement ring goes flying out of his finger when Prachi gently tries to remove it. We jumped with joy thinking it is lost forever. But I guess WWW may also be praying for a miracle since Milsi had it on his finger yesterday and scared the hell out of Prachi!
  • Prachi prays to Ma durga to return back her Milsi (now how many times will she ask for this?). I guess the 'miracle' would be for Milsi to admit to Prachi that he has feelings for her. But his PA will stay put.

So how many more prayers to how many more gods before we see the end of this stupid track? I guess we will just have to keep counting the gods and the prayers till then!!!

Opti....As i said, the creatives seem to take every female goddesses name, every male god's name and then they bring in other religions and even then nothing happens...Are they saying that Prayers are vain

If that is the faith that they are trying to instill in people who are watching then i surely don't understand the concept of taking God's name in serials... 😡

Just come up with a better storyline and leave the God's alone..i some how feel that Tamil serials have better and good storylines compared to all these K-serials....

What about the prayers that were answered?

Remember the divorce proceedings and the prayers of Baba and Premlata? Those seem to have worked alright - getting Milind to know the truth through little Krishna Rithwick, and stopping the divorce.

Maybe the oldies have a special route/connection to God? Prachi and Milind's prayers of late are falling on deaf ears...

I am not a follower of Hinduism, but I find it disrespecful that Balaji T bring in the gods and goddesses into Kayamath only to show Prachi suffering all the time, its as though the creatives bring in god, religion, miracles to sensationalise the amnesia track or something 😕, I genuinly believe that if one has utmost faith in god, than those prayers will be answered sooner or later, one must just be patient. Am still waiting for Milind's prayer at the darga at Haji Ali to be fulfilled, the one when he ask god to return him his past life, and how can one forget the infamous Teej pooja/fast, Creatives may suffer from partial amnesia but the viewers certainly do not, Prachi completed the fast, doesn't that count for something?

Sangs, Yasmin, I think the trick is to pray to Gods rather than Goddesses. See it was Lord Krishna who got baby Ritwik to play the tape and enlighten Milsi of Prachi's 'sacrifice'. It was Ganesha who got Milsi to see the truth about Prachi during the Suki elopement track (remember it was Ganesh Virsarjan on that day?) So far, ever since the PA track began, Prachi and Milsi are praying to goddesses like Parvati, Kali and Durga. Incidentally all the three are different forms of the same goddess! They need to invoke the assistance of her better half now, viz., Lord Shiva. Maybe that will help.
