Im a die hard fan of shekhar... But im too sad for him giving out such comment...

Just a question to Shekhar - What do you have to say about the song Main agar kahoon from OSO?? The prelude is clearly a copy from a song in tamil "Unnai Naan".. I guess the MD is Harris Jeyaraj... The song in itself is inspired from that song... Then why give out such statement???

is this the song you're talking about?

If it is then I wouldn't call it a copy. They're just both the same style. In fact the Tamil song seems to remind me of the Hindi song "chori chori jab nazren mili".

I remember reading how upset Ali Zafar was when he heard one of his songs stolen and twisted around and used in a movie (dont remember which one it was, Channo or something else, they've used a couple of his songs)...and he said how he'd given it to them if they had only asked for his permission.

Qwerty, Bappi Lahiri's copies are usually complete photocopies 😆. Did you see the link for Brother Louie posted by Barnali? You are right that SJ also made direct copies and we are not exonerating them. In those days the world was not so connected and MDs could get away with plagiarism but today it is silly when people can so easily get the original. Hopefully this Roshan- Sampath case will force MDs to acknowledge their sources.

and on top of it , he made a big issue over "kalion ka chaman"😆

And good litigators (if there is such a word) are those who dive right behind those plagiarists and sue them! 😆

diving requires skill. plagiarists are just like those who just stay on the banks... with a line and a tackle and hope the next fish they might catch has a moti in it...😆😆

Bappi Lahri copied so many songs, but his one tune was lifted by some Western music company and I heard he sued them.
