He came outside and saw her standing by the door, lost in her own world - sad and gloomy. He looked at her with eyes full of concern and care and then wishes her happy holi, almost astounding her with his presence.
She looked at him and her expressions change. Confused, as she always get in his presence, her body trembled with his nearness. He asked for permission for a teeka and she refused, saying, she doesn't celebrate holi, and walks away. But Shekhar was not ready to let her go, not today. He called her, "tu kya hwa," and she stopped, almost stunned by his persistence. She hadn't seen him insisting upon anything; this was new for her.
Shekhar wanted to put his first color of the day on her and so he did. "aik teeka tu banta hai" he said and closed their distance. Every step that he took towards her took her breath away. I could see her body trembling at the mere thought of him coming close. He bent his head a little and just asked, "nahi β¦." And as if she had been waiting for this, gived in and turned around. Their eyes met and she moved a little towards him β¦ and at that moment I felt him retreating, almost taken a back, heheheh as if she was going to hit him β¦ (girls see the scene again to know what I am saying π³π³).
He is not sure what to do, how to do, for teeka means touching her, and knowing the Jhansi ki rani that she is, the poor guy was really afraid. And then what Rohini did really startled him. She moved her hair gently, giving him access to her forehead. The smile that touched Shekhar's lips at her subtle yet apparent submission to his request made his eyes shine like a star. Very rarely do we see such perfect combination of a beautiful smile, expressive eyes, and a strange kind of innocence and shyness. I cant seem to forget that smile that touched his lips at that moment β¦. I am still lost in that remarkable expression. Only apu could have done that and so he did.
For a moment he forgot to apply the teeka and just lost himself in her beautiful compliance, silently consuming her feral beauty. She looked up at him, their eyes meet, and the sparks that flew between them at that moment mesmerized my senses. I almost went breathless at that intense gaze β¦ phew β¦ and then she dropped her gaze and he came back to his senses and gently yet assuringly applied the teeka - holding his breath allll the way, never losing sight of her beautiful face, and praying in his heart, "ab kisi jung pay janay ki tyari na karnay lagna raaj kumariβ¦." Hehehhe.
She looked up once again, their eyes met once again, exchanging a sweet expression and then very gently he bends his eyes, freeing her from his intense stare and his haywire thoughts.
That was the scene that left me speechless and mesmerized. Rekha, as you mentioned why someone didn't come up with a post for this one, so here I am, with a scene that not only touched our hearts but our souls.
The expression of a confused yet confident man who likes a girl yet doesn't know what she wants is sooo beautifully portrayed by Apu that I don't have enough words to express his brilliance. All I can say is; the king of romance has yet again proved his power and incomparability.
