Talking about what made him accept this show, he says, "I liked the story. When they narrated this role to me, I immediately said yes because I always wanted to do something interesting on TV. I thought this was a nice opportunity to start off with. It is already a hit show and has a great slot so it is a pleasure to work with the team."
Did he watch the show earlier? "My wife used to follow this show regularly and I have also seen a few episodes. It is a very nice concept."
Avinash has shot for his entry scene which he claims has been done very lavishly. "We are shooting at Mira Road and they have erected a huge bungalow over there. I never ever felt that I am shooting for any show. It was just like a film shoot."
Further, the actor is also essaying a father's role in Amber Dhara. "I am playing Sonia's (Shweta Gulati) father in the show. He is very transparent and does not like to see tears in his daughter's eye. He is ready to fight for her even though she is very stubborn. The character has gray shades but it's a very nice one," he says about it.
Apart from television, his two films - one Bhojpuri and the other a Punjabi - are ready for release. Giving details about it, he says, "The name of my Bhojpuri film is Mahamaya where Khushboo is playing my aunty's role. Asrani and Milind Gunaji are also there in it. The Punjabi film is named Vatanato Dur. We shot it in Mauritius. It is about young guys who have been cheated by being given fake visas and the difficulties they face."
Avinash signs off saying he is not happy with the roles that have been offered to him in the Hindi film industry and so he is still waiting for the right opportunity.
