Don't call me a gay icon: Ranbir Kapoor

Newcomer Ranbir Kapoor was recently labeled 'a gay icon' by a Mumbai based tabloid.
Even though there is still a month for his debut film Saawariya to hit the theatres, Ranbir seems to have already created a fan following for himself. And if reports are to be believed, the young actor has become the hot new favourite of the gay community in Mumbai.
Just a few days back, a tabloid interviewed a few young gays in Mumbai and found that Ranbir had caught their fancy big time.
One gay youth even went to the extent of calling Ranbir a 'Greek god'. Others felt jealous of the girls who praised Ranbir's looks.
But Ranbir himself is not comfortable being labeled a 'gay icon'.
He diplomatically states that his first movie hasn't released yet and it is still too early to call him any kind of icon.
"Once I prove myself I'd be happy to be loved by any community of people," Ranbir is quoted as saying.
'Saawariya' will release on November 9. Besides Ranbir, the movie also introduces Sonam Kapoor .
