Also, i have seen many people here telling htat Hindi is the national language of India..........So just to clarify it.....

"No , Hindi is not the national language.....India doesn't have a national language. According to the Constitution of India, any language, accepted by a State of India as its official language will be given the status of national language
Though Hindi is spoken by a large number of people, only ten States of India have accepted it as their official language. India has no legally-defined national language; it has only 18 official languages according to the Constitution"

yeah hindi is not the national language of india. some states do not recognize hindi as the state's language.

To me Hindi is my National language as it represents my India , My Bharatvarsh and my Hindustan
For debate sake, yes it is official language juat as English is. Pity that we take English as a part of our state but refuse Hindi. Although I knwo to see a true India..visit south. Reason being..north was invaded and was always under attack starting with babar. Our language also got impact an came our Hindi which was widely understood and spoken in North.
When hindi was proposed as national, Major reason to decline it in South was due to Jobs. fear in southern state was not be able to bag jobs ..specially Government jobs as they were the big deal and if Hindi became teh national language then SOuthern Indis would have lost a number of oppurtunities just due to language. as it was not popularly spoken there. This is not the case anymore. We need to be more open towards the nation. Every state would like to make their langauge as official/national. I am Punjabi which is also widely spoken. But I love all other languages be it Bihari or Madrasi. I donot know them but they have my due respect as are a part of my Nation.
It is high time, make our official language as a national language and everyone be biased to your Nation first and then to the state.
If you can learn 3-4 languages, you can learn this beautiful language too.

again, trying to impose hindi on us.... for u, it might be the national language....but it is not for us....then how can u force that language on us.
just bcos, it is spoken by majority, it cannot become the national language.......as said by annadurai..if that was the case, crow shld have been our national bird and rat shld have been our national animal.....
we are not forcing tamil to be the national language......we r not forcing people to learn our regional language........than why is hindi being forced on us.....

It is high time, make our official language as a national language and everyone be biased to your Nation first and then to the state.

are, u questioning our patriotism, just bcos we are not in favour of hindi being the national language... we do not find hindi any more important than our regional language......does that make us any less indian than u... then it is really unfair on us.
and hindi is not the only official language of India........we have 18 official languages....i can learn 3-4 langauges...... but it is my choice what those 3-4 languages are.....no one can force me to learn or thrust any language on me....my constitution has given me that right and freedom.

😆😆 come on kid chillax 😃
Our national bird and animals are also not found anywhere yet are given the symbol because of soem reason...you have admitted it too :) so why Hindi cannot be National language if it is not spoken to handful of states.
Pl donot bring patriotism as no one is questioning that.
Yes we have 18 languages and it was basically doen to apease the states. Should we continue to let our leaders and others continue to blindfold us and fight in the name of religion/caste/language etc.
Being educated does not mean learn a language but widen the way of thinking too. If today Tamil is declared as nationla language, I will not oppose it because I donot know it or I donot desire to learn it ...yet I may not learn it just beacuse it is too late for me . Introduction should be at school level. Tamils were far more educated then rest of India and literacy rate has been 100% for years now. Probably that is why they opposed of learnign a new language. But now we all should work together. If we all uplift as one, is the power not greater.

As we say what is in the name :) What is in the language but overall Hindi is associated with India, so why not accept it gracefully, you donot have to learn it but a uniformity will be there

thats exactly what i am asking u......why r u forcing the language hindi on us.....and who decided that it is the best language to be made the national language......
u might like hindi.........but then why is it compulsory for me to learn hindi...... why shld i accept it gracefully....and our constitution has given me the freedom to choose any of the 18 languages
We joined the indian union as a state with equal rights.....not as the colony of the hindi speaking majority... that was cleared from the first itself that we will not like any language being thrust on us..........so then why shld we accept the language of the majority gracefully. we are not forcing anyone to learn our regional language, then why r others forcing their language on us......

😆you make me laugh kid. no one is forcing anythong on you dear. It is still by choice but should be introduced from school may be as a choice first..... unless someone still has the fear of not able to learn an additional language or not able to bag jobs which are based on hindi speaking and opposes it. This seems like reservation policy. What was done , had a reason, should we continue to drill on past or move on???? I f that is the case and you still wish to live in past ...then . Be in your world kid...but Our nation is much bigger.
To me...Hindi hain hum watan hai..hindustan hamara hamara 😛

the southern states have given people the freedom to choose whatever language they want from the school level.....they just ask for 2 languages....it can be anything.......english, hindi or the regional language.......and we r fine with that........if u want to learn hindi from school level.....no one is stopping u.......u can learn.....
we only have the prob in making hindi compulsory........well that is against our freedom and right...

Thanks.

no one is not asking to forgo ur lang. even if u dont teach it in their curriculam atleast dont treat hindi speaking like foreighners.

Why is it the case that it is easier for a minority to learn another language, whereas the majority it is not? There is more of you than more of us, that doesn't make it right to foist a language on others.

Whether it is right or not, the reason Pakistan wanted to seceed from India was because of the Hindu majority. Reason Bangladesh wanted to seceed from Pakistan was the West Pak wanted to impose on East Pak everything from language to culture. One thing that we have learnt from history is that people will rebel when something is forced on them. Let us not make the same mistake in India. Hindi is not needed to unite India. We need more moderate Indians to unite India.

Also, if we have to learn English to communicate with the English-karans, then why should we not communicate amongst us in English. After all, you know English, I know English then why don't we converse in English.

Again, I have not seen an iota of argument from you that makes the case for Hindi.

Thanks.

Golden iron dude,
Why should we introduce another language into our schools just because people like yourself want it to be taught in our schools? What kind of a logic is that?

Why don't you learn Tamil? Is Tamil offered in your school, for that matter any other South Indian language?

Tell me in how many states in North India is a South Indian language offered? Can you name the states? How many North Indians know another language besides Hindi, English?

This is exactly what foisting another language on the people is. Why don't we communicate with ourselves in English? We accept English as a better language than Hindi because English provides us jobs with money?

May be you have a hang over of colonial English, but we South Indians don't do so. I would first accept English before I think about Hindi.

Thanks.

AZ
